  1. Let's not over think and write too much about it.....if taken into practice as suggested, social distancing would help limit spread between families. Pretty much all guidance right now is for folks to limit interaction w people outside their immediate household unless absolutely necessary.
  2. For those of us in AA Co https://aahealth.org/covid19data/
  3. Normal is gonna take awhile. Folks need to start mentally preparing for no pool season this year. And, looking ahead to the fall.....I'm a penn st season ticket holder for football....I dont know htf they're going to have gatherings w 100k+ people. And, I can assure you that no CFB would be crippling for a lot of college towns. Idk what the solution is unless the season is simply delayed til later in the fall or held in the spring of '21, but that's a logistical nightmare. No CFB would also be crippling to lots of lower level scholarship sports that are funded by football and basketball revenue. The impacts are wide reaching and in a lot of not so obvious ways.
  4. I thought all places were allowed to include alcohol in their carry out sales?
  5. I'd be shocked if transmission from cook's make up any significant portion of the new cases at this time.
  6. The local Italian place up the street from me already had curbside pickup before this hit and they're now just as busy as before. I ordered from there last friday and the line of cars when I picked up was 10 deep with a steady stream behind me.
  7. Re: teachers....I would keep in mind that many of them are in the same boat as us. I'm home w my daughter working, on 4-6 conference calls a day, helping her w work, etc. My daughter's teacher is juggling her class of 10+ kids and her own 2 kids that are very young. Its hella not easy no matter what side of the fence youre on. None of this is ideal for any of us.
  8. Only 97k people passed thru TSA yesterday. That's crazy.
  9. Correct....no chance schools are reopening this academic year. It's just not official yet.
  10. Back when this first got going in MD, there were positive cases in MoCo and PG counties from ppl returning from overseas/cruises. Would love to see those cases traced to understand how many cases are linked. Those 2 counties now have 1293 cases and over 20 deaths.
  11. Up 11 deaths already today in MD.
  12. If it's not cool and cloudy, it's cool with a gale blowing. Just want a stretch of 65-75 and sun. I mean, w all of this craziness going on right now we at least deserve some nice weather.
  13. still struggling to understand why anyone was even thinking about it to begin with myself.
  14. Time to dig out the sunscreen and beach gear for the week of 10th. Fugly. I mentioned to ian yesterday on twitter that DCA hasnt had AOA december snowfall in a decade, but would be nice to see something, anything remotely promising on the horizon.
  15. Really don't think the events are close at all. The area of 20-30" was much greater in 96.
  16. My personal top 5 is now: 1/96: was in southern PA with 3' totals and massive drifts. I'll most likely need to move to the country before experiencing this again. 2/10 part I 1/16 2/03 2/10 part II
  17. I thought they lowered 2/5/10. Had no idea 12/09 was lowered.
  18. This is great. It was a lot of fun staying up Friday night talking w folks here as the band's kept moving into the area from the se. Some of those bands were really great.
  19. Use this thread for storm pics or start another?
  20. 96 pawns 03 with coverage of totals aoa 2ft. Not even close.
  21. For the VA/WV/MD/PA areas, 96 likely covered more ground with 2-3'+ totals than any of those other storms. Temps with 96 were also impressive. And the drifts were insane. This is a good read if you're into how that storm came to be, totals, etc. http://www.nws.noaa.gov/om/assessments/pdfs/bz-mrg.pdf
