  1. Final: 2.5 frozen inches. 19.8F. NW gusts to 19mph. Lopi is roaring in the parlor. Time for the feet to go up, and a nice gin hot toddy.
  2. I actually find it more interesting than if it were just snow. I've got snow that's encrusted by sleet and ice, and starting to turn into concrete.
  3. 2" snow, followed by FZRN, and then a coating of sleet. About ended here. Temp dropped 8 degrees in last 90 minutes- 22F. All surfaces have an compacted, icy, crusty glaze. Kev: Neighbor just slid down his driveway and took out a 6' Holly bush!
  4. Exactly. Region 14 here has a pop-op on the website alerting to the school closure, and right under that they remind parents, kids, and teachers what the updated end date has been revised to in June.
  5. Definitely better in last 15 minutes, nice radar growth to the southwest as the S/W tracks in from the O/V.
  6. Maybe 3/4" here. Radar crappy. HRRR has us filling in around 9am. That's our only hope for anything close to 3, I think.
  7. Gonna be a nice little event for most of us in here. Maybe some 300 year-old trees will get covered in ice and come crashing down onto powerlines and buildings so those people are happy, too.
  8. A go-around, or did they make it on the first attempt?
  9. NW Mass and S Vermont about to get completely obliterated.
  10. First light flakes and heavy winds. Popped out of nowhere.
  11. I didn't realize there was something called a "Squall Warning." According to the NY office.
  12. I should have mentioned these are dwarf donkeys, and very slow. They come up to about my waist. So I don't know.
  13. Damage comes in many flavors. My neighbor's three donkeys escaped last night when a branch crashed into the pen and wrecked the fence. A pack of coyotes is gonna have a feast tonight.
  14. Hopefully not contagious! For some, I guess it pushes a narrative. For others, it's negative attention.
  15. There were 600 outages in CT at 9am from the overnight event that were largely repaired by early afternoon. There are now 1200+, most from the backside winds. Litchfield, Ridgefield, and East Lyme hardest hit, and building more in Western CT.
  16. I moved from Woodbury to a horse farm just over the border in Bethlehem on Hard Hill Rd 3 years ago. I can drive a mile down the hill and the winds will be 10mph while theyre gusting to 30 here. Totally open property in all directions for a half mile, on a hill. Backside winds always overperform up here.
  17. WSW 20-24mph sustained here with gusts to 38 now. High of 56F at 12pm, down to 41.
  18. It all comes down to the lost beer, hotdog, and merch sales. That's close to 2.5 million at a full stadium. The NFL calls Hochul and says, "Get out there and cancel the game. Blame it on whatever you need to, but keep us out of it."
