  1. Yup. My brothers and I were having a beer a few nights back and we asked the question, "What is the block of 30 consecutive days you prefer over any other in a year." Mine was May 20 to June 20. September is also nice, but it didn't win the contest because of the shorter daylight and soccer mom traffic.
  2. Planes from the northeast heading to the west coast are tracking up over Canada to avoid that massive line of severe weather. Not many gaps to maneuver through it.
  3. Filtered sun here. Moisture to the west drying out. Shocking. If we get this low level crap to scour out, I can deal with an afternoon of cirrus.
  4. I remember reading a social psychology/anthropology article in graduate school about this type of persistent cool, damp, and overcast weather being the driving force for the expansion of the British empire. People can't tolerate this, and it is an impetus for relocation to warmer and drier areas.
  5. Got down to 30.7. I covered a few delicate Floating Cloud Japanese maples, just to be sure. Forecast was 27.
  6. The guy left his mother in the pool during that???
  7. Yes. Had a good one over the past 45 minutes. Calmed down now.
  8. 59.9F .89 today. Gusts to 41 in the last hour. Sustained 18-24.
  9. Snowing here. 3/4" so far, covering a crunchy layer of sleet.
  10. Are those the windows you throw bricks through if you lock yourself out of the house?
  11. That's a good one...I like the wire leaners. Any sparks?
  12. The outages in Western CT and Western Mass are exploding, and moving east.
  13. Lots of outages popping up in Western CT and Mass on the Eversource outage map...spreading east.
  14. Yup. I already had several cones ripped off the pines.
  15. I tried for years and gave up. I just look for the ones near me, and wait for someone to get really excited about it.
  16. A friend tried hooking me up with this girl many years ago. "What is she like?" "Oh, her parents really love her."
  17. I will decide by tomorrow evening if I'm going to drive up to Jackson for this. Looks like it might be a good spot.
  18. Jackson, NH. The deck and railings were cleaned off by the renters at 6:48 tonight. This is from a few minutes ago. Not there to measure, but it has to be approaching 2 feet.
  19. Ended with 2.97" in Woodbury. 14-18mph sustained now, not much in the way of gusting over that though.
  20. 2.75 here. I'm pretty sure I won't hit 3. Winding down. Nonnewaug and Pomperaug rivers were roaring here, heading your way.
