Crab grass is loving that pre deluge drought. Kill off the grass with heat and dry, then water the crab grass so its nice and thick through August.

One storm heading right toward my house split perfectly into 2. Both shot in opposite directions.

We are already into August in a few days. And six weeks or so we will actually be speaking about upcoming patterns and long long-range threats. We are in the final stretch of Summer.

2.57 last night. 11.4 for the month. About 10 even for the event. I THINK the 11.4 is my highest monthly total Ive had at my house since moving there in 2011. Some PWS's to my East and North into Lake Ridge have 14-16 inches. Amazing.

Im in Mclean. Not a drop. Chain Bridge and 123. Looked at my PWS and its nearing 1.5 in the last 30 mins. Wherever I Go it doesn't rain. I bring my own drought with me.

I was standing on a front porch in Clifton a few hours ago and watched for 2-3 minutes the houses on the opposite side of the street get poured on. I was nearly drop free only 200 feet away, save for some mist. 80 ft behind me in the backyard was completely dry. It was pretty cool actually. Those of us who golf often witness this phenomenon occasionally.

.16 so far today., west side of Woodbridge. Missed out on the heavy rain by a mile or so to my east. Slept thru it anyway. Today is going to be interesting. Be safe everyone.

With the .90 since midnight, I am at 8.12 since Sat morning. Some crazy close lightning strikes earlier was quite jarring to wake to.

5.97 2 day total. 7.22 for July, which was rainless for the first half.

.60 at my house just since sunrise. .52 from that shower earlier this evening. .08 from a lunchtime shower. Radar is popping discrete cells to the south that may train right up 95 toward PW and Fairfax. We will see. Big 2 day event. No doubt.

I had 5.52 plus .09 since midnight. Areas just NE of me by a mile or 2 got 7+.

For a stratiform rain event (no real instability) in July, this is a anomalous event by all measures. 3 to 8 inches region wide (sorry NPZ) is huge

That Cameron Station Huntington area floods out every 10 years or so. 5.23 so far. Woodbridge va. Creeks caved a few hours ago and the woods behind the house are inundated with 1 or 2 ft of water. Could be higher now but it's dark I can't see.
