Still in pixie needles in Woodbridge. Anything promising zig zags then blows up north of me. Still total of 6.1. Maybe we can cash in after nightfall and maximize each flake. Only 5.2 on the ground.
12 miles down Bristow Rd near me and it's been a different scene. Had 4 hours of ip and zr, then a burst for 15 mins, now just pixie flakes. Just unlucky for now.
It's trying. That was a pretty long period of sleet and freezing rain. Basically 3 hours of intermittent action. Pretty cool, especially if we can tack on an inch or two of fluff later.
Finally. Dendrites are fighting their way through the sleet and freezing rain here in Woodbridge. Hopefully the warm nose is getting punched out of the area with the ull emergence and the costal taking over.
12:50. 31.8, 5.0 on the ground. 5.75 total from 8am measurement. Snizzle with the occasional pure rain drop. A lone dendrite would please me right now. Just one.
I have flurries at best. Nothing accumulated since 8am. Bands to my east and west. Compacted down under 5.5. Total was 5.75. 1-2 more may be a stretch. We'll see. No complaints.
Yeah. Radar looks like poop. Skies are brightening. But....we should start to see some back building shortly. My bests snows were between 6 and 8 a.m. .
Radar is looking great. The next 6 hours is probably when we score our best. If it snows until 9 p.m. tomorrow this will be one of my favorite storms. It doesn't snow more than 10 or 12 hours in most cases here in the DMV
11:30 PM. 3.0 West Woodbridge. Very light snow currently, but will pick up soon. Just .75in over the last 2 hours. My chips are all in on phase 1 of this event. I still dont trust the coastal. Love this event though.
