    Seems like guidance is overall trending wetter. Gfs op looks like an outlier now. Even its ensembles are wetter. But is it a quarter inch of rain or 4” lol. Best chance looks to be NYC to SE MA for heavier stuff. Basically srn SNE. Euro is definitely more north.

    No, my point is that to me, I go by my thermo at standard height in order to be satisfied that I hit 32F.

    It does kick out quicker compared to 6z euro, but damage is done. Ugh.

    Surfaces like metallic bodies are good emitters of long rave radiation. So you can effectively cool a little bit more on a clear and calm night as compared to the environmental temperature. Roofs and grass blades do to a point as well.

    It's like trying to say you have snowpack when the grass is greening in 85% of your yard, but you're hanging on to the last patch of crusty glacier behind a Hemlock.

    I just go by the temp. To me, it's more symbolic vs trying to find a hint of white when the ambient air temp if 37F.

    Ray I have seen that logic too in the industry. Years of cold ENSO maybe helping this Nino stay in its cage. I don't disagree with any of that. Some are speculating we may see a jump in MEI...but I agree seems like something closer to strong, vs super is more likely.

    I think you should dive deeper into what each month looked like. Also, the PDO domain is large. In that mean image above, the cold pool typically seen does match closer to what we would see with a +PDO domain. I think also PDO includes sea level pressure anomalies which may help weed out any ENSO signal?
