  1. Tough to get low dews and 50s on the Cape this time of year.
  2. Sort of related, but years ago (like pre 2010) I was talking to one of our long range guys and he said something to me that always resonated. We were going into La Nina at the time. The so called "numbers" weren't reflecting Nina, but he said we are already in it. I sort of looked at him and said what do you mean? So then he showed me...."look at the ridging near the SE...look where the tropical forcing has been....look at the easterly anomalies taking shape over the tropical Pacific." He replied, "the atmosphere is trying to tell you something." That always stuck with me. It's true. You'll see the global patterns shuffle around before any designation from the CPC.
  3. People are losing it. He'll be body surfing in front of Taylor Swift's house on 9/20.
  4. Actually 57. Definitely coolest since maybe 6-15 or 6-20.
  5. Was 58.1 when I left. Dropped a few just down the hill. Coolest since June.
  6. My nest that I thought I got came back. I also saw a big hole going into it, so I think a skunk tried. Going to light the nest up now.
  7. If it fails can always bump it. I actually thought this week would be warmer like 10 days ago, but the pattern flip really allowed these troughs to dig in. Tropics look dead. Even with favorable forcing it’s quiet. I think dust is an issue currently. But as we head into September, I’m worried shear increases overall. So I’m not really bullish at the moment. Doesn’t mean a storm or two can’t pop over the next 2-3 weeks, but nothing looks too exciting currently.
  8. Pattern will flip to warmer and more humid. I think that’s a lock. Not 95/75 but I would guess lots of upper 80s and dews 65-70+ after 8/12 or so. Hell between now and then it will get steamy a couple of times. No big heat though.
  9. Never have any idea of what he’s saying. The low he referred to got absorbed moved away. Totally different thing led to this cool down.
  10. Get my summer wx to return for my Cape trip next week.
  11. I think it does turn pretty darn humid after the 12th or so. Maybe a bit cooler than July.
  12. Yeah it needs to have the axis over the GL. Probably will after the 12th or so, but until then it's not a prolonged warm and humid pattern.
  13. Yeah definitely interesting. I hope it holds.
  14. I don't hate the CFS...and CANSIPS looks pretty dam tasty.
  15. Just pull the blues 3000 miles west into the west coast.
  16. We didn't have that big NW Canada ridge I don't think. But the trough retros to GL after 8/12.
  17. Might be a couple of COC shots next week. Not like this, but perhaps 78-85 and lower dews. Gets more humid post 8/12 or so.
  18. Then again recent Christmas’ feature cool July weather.
