Stubborn bastards those weeklies. I still think very late month into early December is a window for something. Many do think we get milder mid December...but that probably is typical ebb and flow too.

Weeklies still try to meh December, but definitely not really in lock step with the ensembles when looking at week3ish. The Pacific did improve a bit.

Even the next day a lot of it compacted due to rain. The snow actually didn't have a lot of water content when it fell, even here. Was a fairly fluffy 32.1F snow.

Better off to look at 50mb and also visuals. I looked at the EPS and the vortex had ridges and troughs with a trough down into the CONUS. At least on the EPS it did not seem to be a torch look. A concentric 50mb vortex in Siberia would be more of a potential milder look.
