  1. March 18 showed why NAO helps a lot. When people reference monthly values they fail to acknowledge those dailies where transient neg NAO is in place. Dailies are more important than a monthly average. It's all about timing. Having blocking and cold air drain and bingo.
  2. Exactly. MARCH 2018 was negative and it was the only negative month in a sea of positive. Much of 2015 was transient.
  3. Feb was positive NAO but a transient block was in place
  4. Well its definitely a totally different pattern days 8 thru 14
  5. 174 hr GFS? I would think you would post Ens if you were serious
  6. HRRR still very bullish. If that's correct that's a very nice snowstorm.

  8. Somebody want to tell me about the Euro fail in the SE. 06 Euro now down to an inch or 2. Nam headed that way, GFS there. Euro has been meh for a long time

  10. Dec 2nd disagrees. No winter since Dec 17th
  11. Wolfie has said this for months but it has nailed this pattern of Berks NE winter. If you believe anything post day 4 on an OP and not use Ens I don't know what to say. People saying it blew NC when it hasn't occurred is funny
  12. You do know both are possible it's a long week. Next week is 50s until Thursday when the pattern flips. Not unusual.
  13. Best of luck Jay , you will be ok. Use your network extensively

  15. There is a spot in southern RI called Wood River surrounding by pines at the bottom of hills in sandy soil. It has the lowest recorded temperature in RI and its barely 7 miles from the coast. I lived a half mile from there and you could literally feel the cold as you walked down.
  16. Man NAM gone wild in North Carolina although that would be cool to see
  17. There is that theory and others. Pretty remarkable that our snowiest winters coincide with high populations here.
