  1. Funny story about 78. So the Westerly airport Observer bailed out mid storm and couldn't get back for 2 days. So he entered 20 inches which of course was compacted and refrozen. I lived about 3 miles NE of the airport and easily had 2.5 to 3 feet in protected areas. But the record shows...
  2. Region being? I mean we got crushed in Jan but yea for (just saw your edit)
  3. Maybe my old school self but something is brewing today. Just feels like it. Some nice swirling wind gusts, mixed clouds with moisture streaming up off the Atlantic
  4. Anything over 18 inches is all timers. We are so spoiled
  5. So HRRR ànd 3K which should be handling this are crap, damn
  6. 13 is way up there. So blessed the last decade
  7. Back to the here and now for those who hate us discussing old stuff. 3 k Nam crushes.
  8. I had 14 inches while 5 miles east had 2
  9. But we nailed the epic ending at a GTG. We saw it coming.
  10. Telling ya I was floating in the pool and we had clouds moving in from the SE. Today what a mish mash. I see high clouds moving SW to NE mids moving west to east and lows east to west at a good clip. Yea probably gonna need to keep a close eye on the ocean storm.
  11. Ray is PTSD over the Blizzard. Top 5 of all time in my life, maybe top 3. 78 15 22
  12. Moving fast east to west today. Yesterday was more low to mid moving se to nw.
  13. Last 45 days I am low man on the totem pole. Question is will Scooter say I inflate? 1.12, literally every rain storm was to my north or south.
  14. Surf day incoming as well. Cocadoodledewlessness
  15. Normally though you have greater distribution not the whole regional dryness seen this year.
  16. Are these low clouds again streaming in on SE flow again today or is it edibles as Scooter knows?
  17. It's definitely different east of the river. Normally I can't see the sky through my woods. Lot thinner due to bugs I assume but definitely not lush this year
  18. There are different kinds of drought. Surface soli, surface water, groundwater. Long term Palmer blend covers that. Quantifying each is muddled in that crazy drought monitor.
  19. Meanwhile what a day. Bottle it up for August dog days total winner.
  20. Crackling lawns as you walk around. Very very tough year for farmers especially hay yields. We will pay the piper at some point. I have to say this ocean storm backing in is intriguing and half reminds me of March 18 with so much model waffling.
  21. Nah that's not Palmer long term. It's extremely dry on the surface but reservoir and ground water levels aren't close to historical lows. No doubt we need rain but we will survive.
  22. The drought monitor is mainly for farmers.
