  1. Wow only a few miles south of me you have 11!!! Good for you man
  2. Yes....news swears its slightly over 50 at cef but I have kept records the 21 years I have lived here and I don't average 50 across those years with all the "big" winters in the 2010s. I am 3 mi from CT border. Most I measured was 71 inches 10-11, worst was kind of tied for a bunch in the very low 20s. 21 year average 43 inches, I keep thinking were due for a couple good storms or seasons to get us back towards 50.
  3. I've been through this so many times my friend. I too thought it wouldn't be this bad but also didn't think the storm was going to go that far SE. I'm wondering if this is even a shadowing issue as opposed to the goods just not getting up here. I also thought Hartford area would have done better. You know what Ryan has in Weho?
  4. I always thought the fog/freezing fog was posted for aviation purposes.
  5. I think its interesting to note overall just how stubborn the Euro was to come NW all week. I feel like that was a flag for Western areas the whole time.
  6. I guess we really never were in it . I just hoped really hard.
  7. That's the real deal. Looking at the Post office and can barely see the sea wall. 1/16 mi or less, incredible snow growth. This will be historic for them.
  8. Ten am lol...two hours and it hasn't started yet Probably just a stat padder. Hopefully we get a little more after this one and we will at least make average for the year.
  9. Maybe five inches .... terrible snow growth almost all night except one late night burst which out down half of what we have I wish I could be more optimistic like Wiz and Ineedsnow but considering yet another missed opportunity ....it just blows. That thing is beautiful but its way offshore. We have to hope for some good banding just to get to the low end or just below the low end of what's forecast
  10. I am really glad for SE CT and especially the southern half of Rhode Island. I really hope to here are some three foot totals there. That's another zone that until recently has been boned.
  11. Four to perhaps five inches but half of that came in an intense burst late last night. Its windy and stormy and all that, the only thing missing is the heavy snow. What we have is thick so I am sure we already got our .4-.5 qpf Currently light snow blowing and drifting snow here three miles north of the CT border. Snow was practically just flurries an hour ago so I guess its gotten a bit steadier. Congrats to those getting a real snowstorm. Those who were able to enjoy the strong WAA snows. Thing is so foooking far to the southeast. Maybe we will get some kind of miracle.
  12. I'm telling ya the GFS hasn't worked so hard in a dog's age and the NAM is going to need a break as well
  13. RI definitely should have one and so as should Massachusetts from Worcester S/E and at least central and eastern Long Island
  14. I don't blame him. He's been on the outside looking in many times even when the heavier amounts are towards the coast. I hope him and runaway and Seymour get 30 inches
  15. They sure do. I get the worry. I have become quite worried myself. I see this incredible beautiful storm and wonder to myself why can't that ridiculous initial thump make it a little farther north....just one time why can't we get a super thumptt for six to eight hours of 2-4 per hr with thunder and lightning. There's the 1.5 to 2 feet with an inch or two before those rates and one or two after. Just give us a quick 20-30 and then let it all congeal east into the same places it always does and they can have it for double the time and have their 78 redux. Those of us who want to get buried don't care about hours of flurries and house shaking wind gusts and ground blizzard conditions as long as we got the meat already
  16. Maybe the GFS and the NAM are just exhausted from all the work they've been doing the past few days and are taking it easy for awhile...I can't ever remember seeing them both so steadfast for so many runs in a row.
  17. What happened to storms that have a nice area of just light to occasionally moderate snow after the big thump that just lasts for hours and hours? Maybe it really is just fiction. It seems most events except in spring are hit and run.
  18. I think it sounds awesome and I hope he gets to experience a big snow event while he's there. I bet it is so beautiful in the fall when the tourists are gone but the weather is still pretty good.
  19. I hope it doesn't happen to in you. I lived through it many times and its brutal. Seriously dude..,you are in a really good location and I could see you not being able to see across your street for hours tomorrow. Do you have an idea of what your pack is back home?
  20. I bet after all this snow falls on Long Island and block and Rhode Island sounds the water temps will be down to around 30 degrees. I think they're 32-34 now.
  21. This right here says something about this winter. A month later and still a fair amount of snow cover right on the water heading towards the end of February. SSTS must be so cold too.
  22. If I get six or eight inches and everyone around me is 18 plus I will do my best not to complain but I will be a little bummed I just want to see the crazy rates and lightning and have a huge pack. Later this week looks more wet than white here.
