Suns out and blue skies just like that.

53 kts at MHT is something. Nothing close to that here.

Looks like things may have at least sped up a hair where this is now a Friday event rather than lingering into Saturday AM. Still have extremely low hopes for my Sat AM flight but maybe there is hope.

Welcome back Dom, hope you had a great summer/fall...
Thanks! You too. Back just in time for winter, or lack thereof.

I took a few photos and vids in southern monads yesterday but I can’t seem to adjust them to fit (as usual )
areas of nice color just by crotched mountain area
Drove ASH —> EEN on 101 yesterday and the color in the Peterborough/Dublin stretch was fantastic. Wish I took some pictures.

Supposed to land at DCA at noon Thursday, then get out on a connecting flight at 1:45. Not loving the look right now. Could bite the bullet and switch to arriving at CLT around 11 and leaving at 1. I feel like they can handle wx better than DCA, and if I miss that DCA connection I am completely SOL. Any thoughts from the aviation guys?

In my opinion there’s no way that Nashua is in Southern New England. It is interior central New England
Yeah I think if you're GYX CWA you can't call yourself SNE for weather purposes.

Maybe could it? Could that narrow death band manage to pivot just ten miles west for a consolation prize? 21z RAP thinks it will..... Otherwise I will be tortured by our screw zone.
Looks like it’s weakening to me.

It’s pounding. Probably heaviest of the day now.

Nice ASH parting gift.

Kinda ripping at the last second here. Good growth. Might make up a little ground.

I did one pass and it's got some meat to it. Best rates of the day now though
Yeah, it’s more sand than fluff. Coming down decently here as well. Definitely reminds me of a SWFE kind of consistency to the snow.

Tough to measure but think ~7’’ here. Meh total but pretty intense conditions either way. Joining the IPA crew now.
-
I’m out hiking in it. Definitely not gonna be huge totals but if you want wintry appeal this checks all the boxes.

Ray is successfully moaning the band west it only needs another few miles.
He needs more than a few. It's still a ways away. Gonna be close...
-
There's definitely a W push on radar now. Might tickle Ray but it's gonna be close.

Snow growth is truly putrid, even underneath some passable banding now.

About 5"....tough to tell....ranges from 2-6" in the driveway.
Then yeah you'll at least hit double digits. Agree that 18'' is a stretch. Probably a pretty big stretch...

I think 18" is a reach here....I'd say like 10-15".
What do you have?

that may allow the death band to eek west a bit, too
It's not coming far enough west, I don't think. Gonna be a lot of 20 dBZ meh for the remainder west of 495.
-
Kinda stuck rotting in the 20 dBZ outskirts. Not terrible rates, but the snowgrowth isn't very good.

Same here. It's snowing hard, but snowgrowth isn't great. I think we'll dance in decent echoes, but probably stay out of the meat of it.
Snowgrowth is poor here as well.

"We're gonna need a bigger plow..." Massive, persistent singal now emerges discretely in the models, 20th-23rd

Just went out and there is hardly any sign of wind around here. ASH is just an epic wind hole.
