  1. Man, we sure are getting some crazy wind gusts right now. One just whistled through the bedroom windows like I've never heard before. I may get my strongest winds pre-front from the south tonight as opposed to tomorrow after they shift. The valley my neighborhood sits in is open to the south, and somewhat sheltered by a V shaped ridge to our north, west, and east.
  2. Pushing zero is too cold, 15-20 I'm ok with. Not that it matters, though. As Trixie would say, "weather's gonna weather"...lol
  3. From some bus drivers who posted on a Facebook page, the fires started about that time, and got worse later into the night. Not sure how they're doing, but traffic on I-80 appears to be moving well per Google Maps, so they might be out/contained.
  4. I find it interesting the "micro" pattern we've gotten into lately. Mild to start the week, then a front by Thursday and a cold Friday...
  5. The humidity was down to 10-15% on Saturday, so yes...
  6. The Delaware Water Gap along I-80 right now... (not my photo)
  7. The Delaware Water Gap along I-80 right now...
  8. 55 for the high today after a morning low of 19 here. Crazy diurnal temperature swing, thanks largely to the desert-like dry air this weekend.
  9. Don't know about anyone else, but I've seen light snow/flurries as far north as Hazleton and White Haven this afternoon...
  10. Which run? 0z or 6z? I only have access to the 0z and 12z runs.
  11. DT is hugging the NAM for all it's worth wrt the Carolina/ Virginia storm...
  12. Impressive cold this morning, not in how low it got, but how low it got without any snowcover. We are down to +7 here in Tamaqua, which is the lowest temp of the winter for my backyard station. I suppose the tulips (the parts out of the ground anyway) took a good hit.
  13. That's one of my problems. I hate dressing for it. I love the free feeling of shorts and t-shirts, not the restricted feeling of layering up and/or wearing heavy, bulky coats.
  14. I've only shoveled once, myself. All the others were sweepable. It's amazing how inconsistent year to year can be.
  15. Six years ago today. I shovel the yard for the dog so I don't have a million land mines to clean up come spring time. Check out the size of the snow piles. By comparison, our dog is a 60 lb Black Lab and the wooden fence is 6 feet high...
  16. Well, it must have held together somewhat. Woke up to a coating on cars and the grass. I'd venture to guess not much more than a tenth of an inch, but it did snow overnight.
  17. And everything out ahead of it is dying out right at the Susquehanna. Wonder if the squall line will as well...
  18. Nice big old dry slot over CPA at the moment it seems...
  19. That's so cool to see. Like I said in my post, I'd never seen it before. I just happened to be outside at the right moment.
  20. We got one, which I kind of figured might happen once we were given a hazardous weather outlook this morning.
  21. Maybe, but I almost wish we were getting about 4" of snow before the cold hits. The tulips are about 1-2 inches out of the ground, and a covering of snow would protect them somewhat from the harsh cold.
