  1. I guess 28" would be acceptable, but for the fact that closeby somebody is getting 30+...
  2. That's probably a lot of work to move your house but if you're up for it...
  3. One heck of a banter thread we have here...(yes I realize we're between model runs).
  4. My wife is amused by my snow "hobby" and me honestly telling her how many of us snow weenies are envious of others who get more snow. So I used the term "snowdenfreude" for the feeling of enjoyment when an area that generally gets more snow actually gets less in a given storm than a less favored area. It is a vice no doubt... 5. I've seen video at much more moderate temperatures and it working but the water has to be boiling because it's closer to the evaporation point.
  6. That's because for it to work it needs to be very hot or boiling so it will evaporate faster.
  7. I'm not in Richmond anyway, but you are right it is simply MBY for all of us and it more often than not it is not a zero sum game. When it comes to snow the people in North Carolina look down on those in South Carolina, Virginia looks down on North Carolina, MD on Virginia, Pennsylania on MD, and on and on. Then there is the whole east or west of the fall line plus elevation (my spot is higher than yours). It's all good.
  8. Your "sincere" concern is quite the salve and balm.

  10. Giant, huge, barking dog happy hour 18z GFS for the SE (BECS) into VA and MD...only 11 days away.
  11. ^Just to stretch the analogy, we need it to be a double power play 5 on 3, because of major penalties so we can score as many goals in that time and keep the advantage on the ice as well.
  12. Ji and Jih... Sent from my motorola edge plus using Tapatalk
  13. Anyone on this board around to remember the February 1973 blizzard that dumped 2 feet of snow in some parts of South Carolina and snow from Florida to Va Beach? It must have been epic. https://www.weather.gov/ilm/Feb1973Snow
  14. I'm in Altavista. Sent from my motorola edge plus using Tapatalk

  16. ^I bet that was a lot of fun. Sent from my motorola edge plus using Tapatalk
  17. As the Ukie goes so goes the Euro... Sometimes.. Sent from my motorola edge plus using Tapatalk
  18. Sometimes I think when it comes to snow we're like this Russian proverb. God tells a man I'll give you anything you want but your neighbor gets double. "Make me blind in one eye" the man tells God. Sent from my motorola edge plus using Tapatalk
  19. Miller A storms can make most everyone happy in the forum at the same time. This Miller B hybrid not so much. Sent from my motorola edge plus using Tapatalk
  20. To be fair VA is like 49th out of 50 in vaccinations so a complete fail there. Sent from my motorola edge plus using Tapatalk
  21. Other than for snow maybe at Deep Creek I have no desire to live in Maryland. When my wife from San Antonio moved to Arlington she'd ask about something in Maryland and I'd tell her "We live in VA. We don't need to go to Maryland." Sent from my motorola edge plus using Tapatalk
  22. Hasn't it been warm consistently for this storm? Sent from my motorola edge plus using Tapatalk
  23. Now we'll see whether the a team models follow suit or not. Sent from my motorola edge plus using Tapatalk
  24. I thought the first map said 2-6k" but it was just a plane symbolizing IAD. That would be a bullish call though. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  25. Strictly on snow if you're hunting a big storm I'd say Arlington but if you want more of a sure thing C'ville. But if you live in North Arlington then it might be ok (lived most of my life a few blocks south of Arlington Boulevard)... Absent that where would you rather be?
