I mean, we can't be that far apart distance-wise. I have an almost new Ambient station. I may have a few hundred feet on you in elevation (I'm at ~ 1650). Interesting, for sure.
Snowed for 15 minutes on Hoover Mountain behind the house, and then abruptly cleared up. Usually it just rolls on down, but it gave up before it got here. :shouldershrug:
I can see snow developing behind the house (1620 ft. elevation) on Hoover Mountain and Long Ridge, about 1.5 miles from me (~3300 ft. elevation)
A bit of very light rain here at the house making it to the ground. Temp dropping. Humidity rising.
Love watching it roll in.
Winter time is hard on the broadcast transmitter site. It's the highest such site in the eastern US...on Clingmans Peak, adjacent to Mt. Mitchell. Thanks for supporting public radio.
I'm going to have to make up my mind soon on whether to try and go to WNCW in Spindale Saturday afternoon for my airshift that night, or to cut it here in the studio. I don't want to be driving back up my road to the house early Sunday morning in this potential weather.
