    i was just talking to my daughter. I told her HS softball as well as baseball will be playing every day to get caught up. And, they are already short umpires. She'll be having a crazy schedule between softball and the Bears making another run

    Also [through yesterday], this has been the 4th wettest start to the year at Williamsport and 5th at Harrisburg. 2024 is certainly holding its own in the annals of weather history.
    And you certainly hold your own in the anals of weather history.

    Shit I've never seen: the marsh between Bigler and Philipsburg is almost on US 322. My parents just reported water on the road at 453 in Birmingham (Huntingdon county) and as MAG said, the Juniata may run amok in Huntingdon and Lewistown.

    On the flip side of that, the Dbacks are 2-0, winning decisively last night after their epic home opener on Thursday. I'm really hoping that they run away with the NL West and hand the ridiculously overpaying Dodgers their asses this year.
    The Dbacks are playing the worst team in baseball. That 14-run inning they served up may be surpassed by 20-run innings the Rockies give up to the Dodgers and Braves this year. We'll see how the Dbacks are when they play a major league club.

    The only thing that is keeping the Dodgers from 110 wins is a sandbag in August to keep them from getting a bye round. They and Atlanta are 0-2 on the byes, so I wouldn't be shocked to see some sandbagging in the NL between the Dodgers, Braves, Phillies, and Cubs which may lead to a shock division winner like the Red, Giants, or Dbacks.

    Phillies home opener was fun...
    ...until the bullpen came in. Holy crap, the Phils bullpen sucks. Poor Wheeler.
    MLB.com ranked that sorry ass bullpen #1. Wheeler outdueled the dude who is probably going to win the CY Young and then his bullpen got teabagged. If I were Wheeler, I'd probably smack every one of them with a fish.

    Guy given the win is named Pierce Johnson. Prince Albert wins a baseball game.

    Permafrost has just thawed up this way. I was surprised to see some of the flowers around my house blooming. Mike will have mowed 40 times before I so much as get my mower out for spring training.

    Color me stunned and disappointed.   The other bars name was so offensive I did not want to say it. 
    Long before moving to this area, I was pretty involved in the heavy metal and hardcore scene around these parts, moreso du Bois than Clearfield, which despite the 19-mile difference, Clearfield in particular has cranked out some insane hardcore bands, but du Bois/Brockway/Saint Mary's acquitted themselves well, and I spent almost every weekend in du Bois for several years.

    The people are incredible. There's not one goddamned business with any redeeming value. Not a one.

    Not that Clearfield is much better. For all the hoopla, Denny's Beer Barrel Pub may be the most overrated eatery I have EVER been to.

    The latest GFS is the nightmare spring scenario people are always talking about.   A whole run of Morch due to the Atlantic finally coming alive.   Not warm, not cold. 
    It makes sense. We are in winter now.
