    We used more kilowatt hours than last year for sure. Yes the rates are higher than a year ago as well. I think last summer was our previous highest use age as well since that was our first with the dehumidifier. Between the window units, the basement unit, and the pool filter for a few hours per day, I’m using way more power than before. This past winter was expensive but mostly due to the high rates.

    We did use the ACs less than in July, but still used it more than typical. We do get some water in the basement when we get heavy rain. And 30” this summer kept the unit busy for sure.

    I am a bit shocked at those figures. I guess I don’t know how CDD are calculated. Do they take humidity into account? We ran our ACs a ton this summer due to the humidity. Plus a dehumidifier in the basement that has run almost 24/7 all summer

    I did find it odd that we went JJA without any big high temp stretches. That seems uncommon. A day of 90 here and there. The high minimums really drove the tenor of the season. Due to dews of course

    I'm not sure how often early dismissal for heat has happened here if ever. I honestly don't recall. It's just gross... not dangerous really. Worcester PS has gone to early release for Thurs and Friday.

    Outdoor after school sports are being called off for today here. My daughter's school put out a message that they are considering an early release day for students for tomorrow due to the hot buildings. My co-worker's room across the hall is 88F right now

    I think I foretold this a while back. I sorta figured it would be a week later but not unexpected My wife started in a new district in a 1 year old school. No AC on her floor (top level). Wheeeee!

    No deer flies really at all this summer. A few in July. Now we have some relentless no see um things. The surface of my pool had zillions of dead gnat type things yesterday evening which was weird.

    Part of our school has AC. I am in a core section. No AC but little sun. The rooms across the hall get full afternoon sun. We are up on a hill. When I left, one room was 87F Car thermo was at 93F on Rte 2 near KFIT

    Looks like 85.5 so far at home 87F at KFIT My classroom is 82F with high dews. Perfect
