  1. Wife and I took the day off work to ski our local bump in the morning. We had some cord for a while and transitioned to that nice toothpaste stuff. Something we both noticed around noontime was if we skied under the shadow of a single tree the snow had a different feel than in the full sun. Neat stuff. It was also nice to sit outside and eat lunch (and a beer before noon)
  2. He is double dipping with the Navy throwing him some cash
  3. Cruise line is still not operating. Films are not in theaters very much yet. but it should get better. Their current CEO is a bit of a bonehead
  4. If we go largely snowless for March, then to go 2 prime winter months, Jan and March with almost nothing here, but still finish right around average would be interesting
  5. I will check it out next time I’m down there. I hope the Andrea does the beachside stuff again this summer. That rocked
  6. From the TripAdvisor pics I think we at at Go Fish our last trip (or at least something in that space) and I thought it was pretty meh. I could be totally wrong
  7. Any crowds there? We went in April 2018 last...
  8. Mystic is so much better than the NE Aquarium. Hands down. The nearby food options are lacking though
  9. Cold day with full pack. A week from now it will be but a memory and some piles
  10. Was able to book #1 for this Friday. Only downside is I need to use a sick day since it is down in Bobland. TAN
  11. My wife just got one scheduled for next Saturday. Phew. She has some health concerns (she will still kick my ass at the gym). So that’s a relief. My MIL has received both doses.
  12. My wife and I missed an opportunity to get it by 10 minutes yesterday. We went to walk our dog and we get very poor cell reception in our neighborhood. When we got back we saw we missed a call from a friend of ours who is volunteering at a clinic being held in the next town over. When they are about to close shop for the day they occasionally have a few doses left and they have been told to contact people that could use them. By the time we saw the call and called back we had missed it. Stupid dog...lol
  13. I would like to snorkel some of the rift rivers... clearest water in the world... but 32.1F...brrr
  14. And they average like 85” per year. Very weird
  15. Nice article in today's Glob about Brooks Curran, living the modern bum life in VT... pay site though... https://www.bostonglobe.com/2021/03/04/metro/how-be-modern-ski-bum/
  16. Keep trying. Lots of people qualify and limited slots. Getting better every day
  17. Australia also has a pretty strict set of internal travel restrictions.
  18. Actually, I was wrong about some of what I had thought... Per 100,000 people, as per this site, Texas, CA, and FL are mid pack, NY is in better shape and MA just a tiny bit better in terms of cases per capita. ND and RI are #1 and #2.... #1 being bad... huh... interesting Now that is for the whole pandemic. As BuffaloWeather stated, in the last week, NY has the highest rate... I wonder why that is... And another edit... RI has a higher case rate than NY for the last 7 days And another... NJ is even higher
  19. I was very surprised how they fared bad what I expected. Very happy though
  20. It will be interesting to see the post mortem on it. See what really worked and what didn’t. Pop density seems to be a big factor. Percentage of residents with underlying health conditions also seems to play a role.
  21. Again for NY the bigger issues were early on. FL and TX seem to be in a similar boat but I haven’t looked much. CA seems like a shitshow.
  22. Despite the debacles of the initial rollouts of vaccinations and websites etc in Mass, we are now doing really well. Upper tier in terms of both percentage of doses given and percentage of residents vaccinated. I think #1 for both for states with > 5 million residents (not sure there)
