    0.1F here. Lol. This is funny tD is -6 so should get below zero. Last 2 winters I got below zero for maybe 2 hours total combined. -1 was my low each year All time low here is -19F

    I’m guessing there was pressure. This was back in the early 1990s. Not sure if ice forecasts were solid back then.

    Back in my old career we had a district manager who would close the office at the slightest risk of ice or snow. We always found that peculiar until we found out that at his old office a woman who worked for him died due to icing after staying late at work His guilt haunted him

    Those were the right call in those areas. Heck, we only had 5” and the roads were a mess during morning school drive times. Doing it early gives parents more time to arrange care etc if needed. I do think it was exacerbated by the staffing issues.
