If it hits at the wrong time (5-6AM), and maybe not exactly a high confidence forecast, the crews don't get out to pre-treat. Things ice up and just a couple of accidents lock it up
There was a multicar accident at the Rte 2 ramp in Gardner near the Planet Fitness. Caused a lengthy backup at the previous entrance. Got stuck in that for a while. Rte 68 in Gardner was pretty snowy Hubbardston just had 0.1" or so
We can def get an 85-90 day on Memorial Day. But can we get 7-10 days in a row of 80+? Good luck. You need that to increase a medium sized pool to swim able temps. Otherwise outies become innies
Remind me to take a pic of my pool thermo this upcoming Memorial Day. The pool also doesn’t get the best sun, so that is part of it. Some friends of ours here in town have a nice inground pool that they typically open that weekend though.
States should have at least a little surplus because it saves lots of money long term since they get much lower interest rates when borrowing for large projects. Kinda weird. Same thing at the local level. Towns and cities with no surplus get porked
I wish my pool was warm enough to comfortably swim by Memorial Day. We are typically just barely able to use it by June 15-20 even with a solar cover. Takes a ton of energy to heat water.
