  1. We do a unit on chemical reactions and energy. The anchoring phenomenon is how an MRE flameless heater works. We introduce them to MREs and their heaters and when you might use them. Power outages due to storms, etc. I mention that example because many were in their cars for 8-12 hours. IF they had an MRE in their car's emergency kit they could enjoy a warm meal of roasted rat while they waited it out. The unit itself focuses on Sandy and Maria but I throw in tht storm, the 2008 ice storm, and the flooding from 2023 because I'm a weenie
  2. I use that exact image from BOX in a lesson I teach
  3. He is a very good met. He used to weenie out a bit way back when, but has gotten more realistic.
  4. I know it’s a long way off, but I don’t see a grinch system next week. The one this week seems highly likely but should be rather quick. After that I don’t feel another cutter hits before Dec 25
  5. Over performer here. Expected 0.5” closing in on 2” of fluff
  6. One thing I enjoy about heading to our daughter’s school is going up through those high terrain areas I had never visited before. That Rte 2 hairpin turn is amazing as is that Rte 9 drive.
  7. Parts of Greenfield appeared to have more snow than here when I drove through there yesterday. The side up towards Shelburne Falls etc.
  8. 1” new here. Very festive. My driveway is super icy though and this doesn’t make it easier
  9. 0.5” here well away from the snow. Enjoy it southern folks!
  10. I will be driving back and forth to S VT on Saturday to pick up our kiddo. Can't make it. I will try to post pics from Woodford VT
  11. A few flakes here…maybe More snow last Saturday and Tuesday than this non event here.
  12. I know I was just trying to prove a point... memories can get addled over time
  13. Are there specific years in CT where December was wire to wire snowy?
  14. Salt would have been enough. They did the same thing Saturday morning... plowing 0.5"
  15. Our big town plow went by around 11:30PM (dog started freaking out). It had the blade down and was scrapingmaybe 0.5" of slush while treating. Making our road even worse
  16. Snowing decently here but not sticking to anything. Didn’t really lose much today of my “pack”
  17. It would cut back on the bitching ineedweenies and I will get ours…
  18. I'mn leaning towards a few flakes to minor accumulations here. Hopeing those to the SE get a nice wintry event
  19. Just warm enough here that my road wasn't bad during the dog walk. Part of it might be the condition of the road... not really smooth is an understatement
