Oh Canada thank you for your crystal clear Cobalt sky. No smoke like some had predicted. Top tenner for sure. Cocadoodledewlessness
Ginx, Canada is the gift that keeps giving. A large arc of smoke is ready to descend. Will tonights cold front push it south of us? I put the yellow dot on us

Interesting setup. Line of convection along the Mass Pike is moving north and about to meet the line coming SE. What is going to happen when they both meet?
-
67/63F Moderate rain .70" Dewpoint really dropped past hour. The difference is already noticeable.
-
73/69 R+ About .55" so far. Very little lightning. Just dark, tropical with rain.
-
A couple of hours ago we had a heavy shower. .28" now the sun is out. With so much moisture around my dew is up to 75F. A rarity
80.1/75

What time does SPC update it's convective outlook?
-
Very warm and humid up here with early morning sun. I think SPC area of potential heavy storms should have been bumped north. We have missed the severe action up here lately but things seemed primed this AM. Model qpf seem to be trending more bullish.

Good luck down there. I might escape this whole system without any convective rain. Just a bit this AM

Speaking of dews and Nashua, the ASOS has been reporting higher dews for quite awhile. Why doesn't someone at the NWS notice it and make an adjustment. Is it that hard to have a field guy go out?
71.4/68 here. Low clouds I don't expect any severe this far north
-
My bet is a tornado watch for the first meso disc area and severe thunderstorm watch for the second disc further south
71/67 up here. Low overcast. Real severe threat will be south of the Dendrite area, imo
-
Since the discussion starts out with damaging winds and a tornado or two my guess is a tornado watch

80% of a watch. Bets on severe thunderstorm or tornado?

The kind of talk from the forecast offices usually makes me want to run in the opposite direction, but honest to God even on my trips out to the Midwest people are watching and waiting to see if severe ingredients come together for an active day.
We’ll just have to watch the trends I guess.
I forgot, there is the "enhanced" before we would get to moderate

Upgrade to moderate? With what you all are honking sounds like it would happen later

Lots of lightning on the Boston webcam looking west
-
About .15" looks like I'm about finished. Dodged every cell all day
-
68/64 Sun just breaking out. Some pretty intense echoes west. It will be interesting to see how much they weaken as they get to Central NH. Have had about .10" so far
....one more comment on electric. Eversource here in NH and NH Electric Coop are lowering their rates substantially on August 1rst. 12.6 cents per kilowatt hour, down from the current 20.2 cents per kilowatt hour. 38% rate reduction

You can have my gas car when you pry the keys from my cold dead hands.

But I do believe you have to start somewhere with making these products more environmentally friendly. I have a 2 stroke brush cutter, but only because an electric isn’t powerful enough yet to do what the product needs to do. The electric technology is there for a simple weed whacker or leaf blower though. The mowers are starting to get better too, but I have over an acre to mow with some brush in spots so I’m sticking with gas for now.
Brian, I got to come visit you and have you drive my electric Mustang Mache up the big hill you live on. You will be blown away with power of instant torque. Going on 18 months now and love this car. With the electricity rates going down it is much less costly to drive and great in the snow. Other than tire rotation not a penny of maintenance. Electric has down sides but like you said we have to start somewhere, especially for those who like snowy winters

Was just thinking how smokey it is....working in Newton just off 128 and it's super hazy/smokey
So much smoke for the Eastern part of the US. Now it is coming from Western Canada. No more cool, clean Canadian air!
