This seems a little overboard but it has to be because of all the recent huge parties. Hundreds of college kids rented a banquet facility and threw a huge Halloween party last weekend. There have also been huge underground parties in the cities as seen from the recent Bridgeport video. I heard people were still sort of able to go out drinking like at a bar for the night at restaurants. You just hung at a table and ordered like some fries and drank beers. Look how many people are killed from drunk drivers everyday. The total numbers when you factor in the deaths from alcohols health issues, violence, accidents, etc must be huge. Harbor Freight has a 4000 watt 240 volt generator for $359. I have the Harbor Freight 2000 watt inverter that is literally identical to the Wen version. Its been great and I have got like 16 hours of runtime on a light load off 1 gallon of gas. Inverters are awesome as they electronicly adjust the throttle to the load. Big gas generators run at a fixed 3600 rpms and guzzle gas. I use the inverter 90 percent of the time during an outage and fire up my 6500 watt just to run the water heater and for cooking. My house is all electric/solar. The inverter can run my fridge, chargers, light's and even a window ac.

It looks like most of the hospitalizations in CT are now in the Eastern part of the state. Seems like it's starting to hit areas hard that had very few cases in the spring. Connecticut's COVID-19 hospitalizations have reached the highest point they've been since June 23, according to Governor Ned Lamont. Since Friday, there has been a net increase of 19 hospitalizations, bringing the state total to 129. I'm hearing from many people business is plummeting ever since the cases have started ticking back up. A few friends that work at restaurants said they are cutting staff as there has been a huge drop in the amount of people coming in. I think its going to be an ugly winter.

It's crazy how expensive building supplies are now. 2x4's have skyrocketed in price and are like over $6 each now at the local lowes. That's for just regular non pressure treated ones Home Depots and Lowes around here are cleared out. Had to drive all over to find exterior decking screws yesterday. @tamarack I'm down at our lake cabin in NW New Jersey. This Tulip Poplar is estimated to be over 150+ years old. We have detailed land records going back to the late 1800's. The forest is all old growth and the size of the trees here is incredible.

Its right off route 1 on Chestnut St. The road loops around back to route 1. Also, take a ride on Brushy Plain Rd. Right at the pond on the upper left is Branfords highest point. The road goes over it. There is a ton of damage up there.

Yeah the New England states have some crazy generous incentives. Massachusetts has the best solar incentives in the nation. The rebate is so big the payback is only 5-6 years.

Yeah. They will come in and check over your whole house and do minor work like air sealing cracks, install weather stripping, etc. At the end they give you a report and show you all the rebates and costs to do further work. The blower door test they will do is cool. They pressurize your house with a big fan to see how much air leaks in/out. That's where you lose the most energy. They guy said some people's older homes are so leaky its like having a 5 by 5 wide open hole to the outside.

To all the CT residents out there. The state energy efficiency fund is now covering 100% of insulation cost up to $10k. A friend just got like $8k in insulation installed in his house for practically free. CT also tripled its mini split/heat pump rebate from $500 to $1500. These are all funded through charges on everyone's gas and electric bills. Energizect.com

That's probably exactly what it is. I have friends that do construction work down in Greenwich. People do the exact same thing down there. They level a perfectly fine multimillion dollar 20 year old mansion and build some ridiculous new mansion.
