Sitting at 34/23 looking and feeling like snow is at the doorstep, too bad it'll probably be just mood flakes and wetness, but I dig the feeling outside, man I have missed winter, and the last couple years have been pretty garbage too, so due for a nice one, with constant tracking and verification would be great!

down to 28 already with DP at18, should be a nice cold one tonight. So, does anyone south of the pike look to start white upcoming, or just cold rain? next week looks a little promising for a couple chances

Octorcher or Roctober 2023 Discussion Thread
tavwtby replied to Damage In Tolland's topic in New England
this front should pretty much do it for leaf fall .. there's always that one day in late October early November where it's a brisk cold front and knocks all the rest of the leaves off, and full force cleanup begins. I'm happy I'm finally not traveling this year at this time to get final garden stuff done before ground freeze -
I normally take a break from the forum during the spring and summer, but man, 6.37" of rain in the last 24 hours, honestly stopped around 8 this morning, so from 1400hrs yesterday to 0800 today... I saw a cocorah report in Cornwall of over 9", and someone said I think Putnam cty NY had over 10, washed out roads and bridges. I just flew back from Florida late Saturday night, like almost midnight, and when I left it had poured to where it flooded areas there...so I've seen a lot of rain in the last few days, luckily no basement flooding, good luck everyone!

yes please, that was my biggest storm since moving here I believe, and haven't had more than 16 since, I think have to check the archives...
-
unless we get another .3" from here out looks like that's a wrap, 11.7" storm total, will see in the morning if anything else fell on the cleared spot but I have to say, 8-12 was my call from the beginning and that is about where we landed, here anyway... little higher all around me was over a foot, and damn some of the numbers from the usual spots approaching 40 is insane for like 24 hours... I will be leaving Friday morning for nearly a month in Florida so I doubt I'll see snow again until next season, so at least I was here for the nice little stretch to get me over 40 on the season... amazing that some got today what I got all season! thems the breaks.nice storm all around, what could have been if we were 5degrees colder.

looks like another hour or so of this and then it's showers, making a run at 12, needs to keep up the pounding though

is this stalled or retro? seems like it's been in the same position for a while now
-
yeah nuts the difference just a few miles and a little elevation made...as I said before, east side of the river in Enfield, nada otg and 35... barkhamsted up on 219, was over a foot

I'm glad I went out and cleaned the taters earlier, because having another few inches of better ratio stuff on top of that would have been a mess, especially with the wind blowing it all back in the face... decided against the shield on the new blower, which would have probably been the best attribute of it, first gear is so fast, the blower bounces instead of putting along, and the new "smart steering" technology has me fighting the blower on where I want to go, as opposed to where it goes, gonna take some getting used to...btw, still poundtown here, vis is a few hundred yards for over an hour now.
-
plainville NY, 36" and still snowing... Windsor Mass 31", also still snowing, some incredible amounts coming in.
-
nice, other than those who were unfortunate to not flip last night, that insane tracking leading up to this was worth the headache, my biggest storm in I believe 5 years... what's funny is my wife had a memory from 6 years ago where I was wearing my snow cleaning gear, so March of 17, I think I got over 16 on that one, have to check the archives... looks like we still have a few hours to go here too
-
little more than 10 atm, combining what I measured this morning and what fell after the slot... but if this keeps up we'll hit 12 for sure, dumping out there
-
beast mode there, what you up to?
