I was hoping we could come out of this with a couple inch glacier but doesn't look promising. Hope for better luck on the next one.

We are having a bad blizzard here. The snow was incredible this morning couldn't get the doors open. Environment Canada put us in a Winter Storm Warning but honestly should of put us in a Blizzard Warning. We had very little rain and ice. Shades of one of the bad blizzards that hit my area in 2015.
How much do you have so far?

I grew up in the 70s and 80s, but in the Albany area. winters there were ok. Sometimes I have those conversations with people where I say, "I remember when the snow was always on the ground and the ponds were frozen by Thanksgiving, Yada, Yada, yada" It is probably just that nostalgic way of thinking though. People seem to remember the best parts of childhood when it comes to stuff like this. Even if it was a s.hit bunch of winters, the glory storms stick out, and stick out in a way that it seemed like every winter was glorious, even though it wasnt.
Well I grew up in the 60's and there were some good years, 70's ok, 80's sucked, this year reminds me of an 80's year, bitter cold outbreak, then snow to rain. Seemed like most of the 80's were like that. The streak was broken in 92-93 and 93-94 winters.

I think i asked this before but what are some nice hotels near the water in Cape Cod ? My fiance and I are going to go there in the summer.
They're almost all near the water, I used to stay in Dennis because my cousin lived there but I used to like going farther up the elbow. No matter where you stay it's a short trip to the water.

Has Hazey checked in this morning? he had a blizzard going last night and it looked like it would last awhile.

I actually thought the same thing. Super Blizzard '78 went all sideways at the height of the storm during those early Monday morning hours. Like a perpetual Snow gun or massive white blast sideways.
I stayed up til midnight figuring we'd have no school and when I got up at 6am and looked out my window it was blue skies, thought things went south. I ran downstairs and looked out the door and the snow was above the top step, it was fours steps up to the porch and all I could see of my car was the black Landau top, car was buried. Never seen anything like it and then we got the wraparound squalls Tuesday into the afternoon and picked up another foot, just an amazing storm I'll never forget.

Crazy conditions here on Cape Sable island.
That's what the blizzard of 78 looked like when I kept looking out my window at the street light, went on for hours and hours.

I moved here in 2018 and jeeeeesus have the winters been boring since then.
Looking at the upcoming storm this morning I said "this winter blows" and my wife said "you say that every year" lol.
You were 4-5 years too late.
Models have some good cold shots this month, we need to put down a decent layer of snow before it comes.

He had to save them from getting sick too. The fever told him to do it.
I appraised a house In Woodstock, the guy had 24 chickens that he had for eggs and he had this PVC pipe contraption with netting that he moved around with 12 white chickens that he said were for eating because they plump up quick and get meaty. I really don't know what chickens are for eggs or eating.

Seems when I was a kid we got a lot more of these storms that started as snow and would change to rain, maybe I'm misremembering, I don't have Will's memory.

I'm up to 6 so probably hit my low for the night, -20 in Pittsburgh, he's still going down.

yeah I was looking at the coldest games and remember that one in Cincinnati in the 80s where it was like-50 windchill or something crazy, buffalo had one on the top 10 in the 90s vs the raiders I think, Pats/Bills in frigid snowy buffalo should be a good watch...was looking at my upcoming trip and snow is expected, per WU anyway, all the way to GA, 2-4" there for Sunday/Monday
Minus 59 wind chill, I remember that game, had to hurt to be a player playing in that cold.

Northern Maine does cold really well…I’ve been up there during some brutal cold, and have pictures of my truck thermometer at -32F. Truck makes noises like you’ve never heard before.
LOL, everything makes noise at that temp, my coat was crackling when I was in NH at -35, twice I've witnessed -35 both were in NH.
