Good morning t f when I was young, a dream of mine was to settle in Portland. I wanted to look west to hills and mountains, east to my beloved ocean and still enjoy the beauty of the cold season. My dreams sadly ended up, as best described by this line in the Evans/Livingston song, “they just lie there and they die there”. Have a wonderful, bountiful season, as always ….

We plan to in a couple years when  my wife retires for the exact reasons you mentioned.

The 2000s were a bit better at least in ORH. We managed white Christmas in 2000, 2002, 2005, 2007, 2008, and 2009....with a near miss in 2003. Had patches leftover in that one from yet another brutal grinch storm. If you had a sheltered yard you may have managed an official white Christmas in 2003.

Didn't we get a Christmas Eve grinch storm in 07 that wiped out over 20 inches?

Still mowing every week here. Lawn looks incredible with all the recent rain and warmth.

Lawn looks great but I don't see even one leaf in the picture, I live in the woods, no matter how many times I clean the yard when it gets windy leaves blow in from the adjacent woods.
