  1. I missed most of the rain, which saddens me --- but, I also missed the tornadoes. I'll take getting dryslotted. I can live without rain, as long as I miss the tornado lol.
  2. Just wanted to let you all know the Biltmore Park webcam never updates. Its still dark on the webcam and snowing hard. I really wanted to see what it looked like there after it stopped and daylight came but oh well. https://www.facebook.com/wspatv/videos/756890834677211/
  3. Already picked up nearly two thirds of an inch of rain just this morning into the afternoon in Buda, TX. Not bad for a 40 percent chance of a few passing showers.
  4. Strong cold frontal boundary passed thru Buda TX at approx 110am. Temps and dewpoints are falling, temperature fell from 78 to 67 and dewpoints fell from 76 to 64 in a matter of 15 minutes. Surface winds are gusting to 26mph out of the NW. This cold airmass means BUSINESS.
  5. September in Buda was very rainy compared to what I have come to expect in this region at that time of year. We got 12.5 inches of rain last month. We have also picked up 4 inches of rain in Buda this month so far. I love El Ninos! On another note however, the capping over AUS and San Antonio appears to be MUCH MUCH stronger than earlier advertised, so it looks as though tonight most of the rain will fall well east of I 35, then tomorrow most of the rain will fall well west of I 35. I'm new down here in central TX. But it sure does seem that AUS tends to be in a precipitation minimum much of the time, lol. It'll be cooler Monday thru Thursday but probably just a few passing light sprinkles. I'll take the cooler weather with a north breeze tomorrow over tonight's 87/77 conditions.
  6. We are praying for your safety in the Carolinas and for a weaker storm. Stay safe everyone.
  7. Looks like Austin lucked out on this round, I am not sure how it is happening, but all of the rain is going around us. I sure feel sorry for places to our west and north, the rain has been torrential and relentless in those areas for the past few days. I hate when it rains on my outings here. It wont today or tonight.
  8. Buda is in northern Hays County, about 15 miles south of Austin along I 35. We received 3 inches of rain this afternoon. We are even more thankful for that rain, it is needed down here, and now I am praying other parts of Texas get much needed rain, but not flooding. The grass is already responding to the recent rainfall.
  9. I reside permanently in Buda Texas as of last Sunday. Buda got an eighth of an inch of rain earlier today. We're very thankful.
  10. I definitely remember that one. Man that was a shock.
  11. I want to read that so bad, I can taste it! I want to read about the storm surge! Heck, I WANT TO BE IN THE STORM SURGE!
  12. Its a damn SHAME that easternuswx forum is forever only a memory. A real SHAME.
  13. The Mid Atlantic subforum is going to be shellacked hard by snow sometime in the next 4 weeks. Get in shape, buy snow shovels and snow blowers. Check the snow tires and chains. You're gonna need 'em if you live in the Mid Atlantic this late winter.
  14. I am sick and tired of rain already. I would never have ever thought, in all my born days, that I would ever croak out, that am sick of rain, but there it is. I am sick and tired of rain! I wish I lived in the Sahel.
  15. I am starting to notice the drought. North Carolina is getting much needed rain, while weather system after weather system after weather system after weather system after weather system after weather system after weather system after weather system after weather system after weather system gives us only drizzle and very light rain, time after time after time after time. The rain we DO get is not measurable, unless you use a scanning electron microscope. I may have to start the dry summer complaints topic in early April lmao. This is going to be one of the hottest and one of the driest springs in the Mid Atlantic, since records began to be kept. I can't even begin to imagine how incredibly HOT and parched hellish dry the summer of 2018 is going to be. I would much rather we have a super El Nino with 100% all rain, than have this dry horrific winter, then a dry horrific (and record HOT) spring, followed by the Summer Straight From Hell. Climate Change is HELL, and the worst effects will be seen in the Mid Atlantic, NOT the Arctic. La Nina will last into late 2023. We will still get lots of snow this winter but it will be dry fluffy snow, and melted down, this snow will not help the serious drought here in the Mid Atlantic. We are going to be exactly like California by 2021.
  16. All I want for Christmas, is a Dec 31 2017 thru Jan 2 2018 blizzard.

  17. Does anyone know where I can get an AFD for anywhere in coastal Texas, as close to Corpus as possible? I want to read a full technical AFD about the next 7 days in that part of Texas, lol. I have been looking for hours and hours - can't find a single AFD about the storm. I am developing a full documentary about Harvey, with pics and notepad backups of all pertinent AFDs. I guess you could say I am slightly interested in this storm.
  18. Upper Midwest will have prolonged record cold this winter. Any snow that accumulates will stay around til September. You will have many snowstorms. Get extra snow shovels, particularly the Jebman brand with a fiberglass handle and a reinforced square edge. You can chip thru thick ice with those, as well as digging thru mountains of windblown drifts. That is the shovel that I used to liberate Dale City last January in the Great Blizzard of 2016. Don't take chances, folks. Have at least FIVE of those shovels on hand. If you get overwhelmed by too much snow, you know who to call: Jeb !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. I cant remember the name of that famous hurricane chaser here on American who chases hurricanes all over the world, but is he chasing Meranti? He ought to be able to get some good video coverage.
  20. Any additional snow this winter is even more sweet icing on the cake. I've already reached climax.
  21. Snow shovels oiled up. Check. Jebwalk dry runs completed. Check. Jebwalk headphones in great shape. Check.
  22. We ARE going to get snow. I can feel it. If we dont get it this month, we will get annihilated by Feb 19 1979 X2. All it is going to take is one cold air mass and a juicy Nino storm coming up the coast. We will ALL be digging out for two weeks from one of the deepest snows in decades. We'll be schooling Weathafella on Nino blizzards and informing him and his New England crew on how to properly shovel snow. I dont know why we even HAVE a Panic Room. We dont need it. We ARE going to get snowed in this winter, this 2015-2016 Winter. Just remember, You heard it from the Jebman first, when hardly no one else even believed in snow anymore.
  23. I see you guys are starting to believe in what I have been saying in my last couple of posts. You see that there is NO REASON for a Panic Room, none at all in this 2015-2016 Winter. Its great to see that we do after all have some true believers in here. We will have a mean 500 mb trough developing over the East, along with blocking. Buy lots of shovels and get ready for EPIC jebwalks! Dont forget the salt and sand.
