  1. Monday afternoon with clear skies and warming temperatures the wind is still blowing well over 30 MPH out of the SW on the open water of Lake Erie.
  2. I watched the game on CBS TV and I wounder way neither the team or the CBS crew were prepared for the move to Detroit. Tuesday it wasn't the weather people that came up with the possible plan of moving the game, yet the team and TV crew did everything at the last moment.
  3. Meanwhile 5 miles West of the Cleveland football stadium, we got our first real snow of the season a little under 1 and 1/2 inch.

  8. Sunday afternoon weather is of interest to Clevelanders. If the wind is out of the West, it will be a snowbowl football game.
  9. They only did one race on Thursday (the hope was for 3 races). I think that the cells to the NW and S complicated course setting.   10. There is a big sailboat race regatta in Cleveland. It was scheduled to start Wed. June 15, but lack of wind delayed the beginning to Thursday morning. Any thoughts on wind and waves Thur, Fri, Sat & Sun, during the day?
  11. While it was hard to measure with the drifting, I'll go with more than 10 inches near Lakewood Park.
  12. On Saturday at 12:40 PM, the Lorain Harbor, OH weather station (Station LORO1) measured a gust of 66 knots. That's 76MPH. At 12:30 PM Cleveland shoreline had a temperature of 63°F and at 4PM it's about 40°F.
  13. Thunderstorm Friday evening in Lakewood! I don't recall that much lightening in a half hour period. (about 6:50 to 7:20PM) Oh the Thursday afternoon dropped abut 2 inches of rain
  14. At 8AM, there was 1/4 inch of snow near Lakewood Park. The overnight temperature never dipped below 35/36°F.
  15. The 70% number was based on COVID-19 a year ago. The newer variants may push that number above 85%
  16. 5PM wind at the west end of Lake Erie is 32 knots out of the South West. Temperature has risen to 23°F. Water temperature near Cleveland is 35°F and near Buffalo 33°F.

  19. It's been two years and a few days since Cleveland has had a below zero F° temperature. That's about to change.
  20. The 100 day goal is 100 million doses before May 1. That's only 16% of the population. It will take 500 million doses to get things under control. We should have much more information about what's really happening sometime next week.
  21. So I went out to shovel, hard to measure with the drifting. But the next door meteorology student had it at over 12½ inches. I saw a little bit less.
  22. At 9 AM near Lakewood Park, from my doorways, I measured about 7 to 8 inches of snow. Air temperature at about 20°F.
