  1. Healthy looking plants there. That basil or mint off to the left?
  2. Areas NW, N and NE of me are getting crushed per radar. Just some distant thunder here and occasional big drop of rain. Just on the edge of things. WPC is very robust with totals next 7 days. Don't see an outlook this this that often. That is a widespread area of 5". Details still TBD but some serious flooding from the SE U.S. up into the NE is on the table. Totals on some guidance of GA and SC are off the charts.
  3. Totals from last 24 hours. Nothing excessive across the area and locations along and north of Rt. 80 did best. The area along and just south of Rt. 78 didn't do great but more chances coming up later today, tonight and tomorrow. Hang in there!
  4. Did well yesterday in the rainfall department! Received 1.08" last 24 hours. Two downpours. First around 1:00 and second around 5:00. I was not around for the first one but the one around 5:00 really unloaded over a 5 min period. Steamy this morning.
  5. Models are swinging like a chandelier in an earthquake. With no defined center that is to be fully expected. Land interaction over the next 2-3 days will be a big inhibitor.
  6. Same here but I get the feeling it will be more of the same. An above normal and swampy month. Most likely with above normal precipitation. Not to say we don't get some crisp overnights as we get to later in the month.
  7. Picked up .08" last 24 hours. Most of it from an evening T-shower that went just to my north. We now return you to our regularly scheduled program.
  8. Picked up .08" last 24 hours. Most of it from an evening T-shower that passed by just to my north. We now return you to our regularly scheduled program.
  9. Yes. At least 2 above and this is against our highest set of 30 year normals. Just seems near impossible to get a month 2 below normal at this point.
  10. .01" rainfall last 24 hours. Let's continue to play kick the can. Very dry and disappointing "wet stretch" especially considering the high DP pattern that has been in place for the last 3-4 weeks. Some places haven done well but those places are a small percentage of this sub forum. It has been dry.
  11. Sure hope they don't get anything of tropical origin later in the season up that way. Thankfully the excessive rains up there of late have been pretty localized but still.
  12. Had Trace of rainfall here so far. Hoping for something better as the week moves forward.
  13. Very pleasant out there this morning. Overnight low of 60 with a light breeze and low DP's. Don't get much better than this for late July!
  14. Such a disappointing amount of rainfall this week. Yup, will be watering here as well. Going to be dry into mid next week. My hopes are raised for a wetter period late next week into the following week. A ways off though so we'll see. Latest Drought Monitor shows the dryness across NJ.
  15. What a waste of a soupy moisture laden air mass. Have about .30" to show for it.
  16. A whopping .26" overnight. I'll take it but I sure would like more. Not likely today and not so sure about tonight either.
  17. Just trace of rainfall here today. Skunked so far. Some places did well but not widespread coverage. Hoping for something decent over the next 2-3 days....at least an inch I hope.
  18. For the first time this season lots of wildfire smoke showing up in central Canada and showing up at least on a minimal basis over parts of the U.S. Very dense smoke over central Canada. We'll see how much of this can "mix" into the pattern over the coming week.
  19. Agree, some of the high end numbers of named storms out there may be in trouble. ACE numbers maybe less in jeopardy if we get some more intense long trackers like Beryl but even so those high ACE numbers could be on shaky ground as well.
  20. Low of 57 here this morning. Wheeled the garbage can to the curb at 5 a.m. and it was borderline chilly for mid July. So refreshing compared to what it has been. Low of 51 in Walpack, NJ and numerous lows in the low 50's in the NW NJ cool spots.
  21. Fairly extensive dryness and drought over the eastern 1/4 of the country. Some of this should get beaten back over the next 2 weeks expecially over the Mid-Atlantic and parts of the Southeast.
  22. Had an even 1" here during last nights storms. Wind was quite minimal. A few good flashes and rumbles but mostly just a nice soaking. Additional rainfall chances next week so good for a while around here.
  23. Buddy in Pittstown, Hunterdon County still without power at this hour. Trees down all over the place. Just want some rain. I can do without all of that.
  24. Missed to my northwest and now they are blowing up to my east. Sucks.
