  1. dude they never plowed gregg hill It's still 1 ft of snow But so light and fluffy it's delightful I will share video, but I have lived here since 1987. I have never seen a road as unplowed as this, well closed class 4 maybe. They never made a pass today at all
  2. Also PF, I saw something where they said jan 83 was the biggest storm in Albany. Is that true. Is it only 24 hr. Because I know that area has had way bigger storms. I remember you being from albany from ne.weather on usenet
  3. Yup totals will depend on tomorrow evening, but I think we will still wake up to more than expected....you want science, all the dog tracks from the past 2 weeks are filled in. Thats an epic feat...I jest that its science, but it is a big deal it shows how much snow we got and thank goodness I was getting sick of them.
  4. you never know what your gonna get with radar in VT, it's the nature of the business
  5. I know the NWS mentioned this but it is weird to see...The snow is just falling, there is zero wind. NONE.
  6. I went for a snowshoe, its coming down so hard and its soooo fluffy, rap and hrr both showed vv and rh giving the omega despite pw being less than ideal, the lift is what's doing it. Im just glad to not be in the hole near springfield, fucking differential equations too many variables
  7. Im still on the train that temps are gonna go up, dgz layer is gonna grow, more vv and rh, better crystals fluffier snow it's coming. granted i'm a beginner. Well here in N VT
  8. How do you know? I know radar isnt great at determining this but it looks like the sleet line is south of that
  9. And yes i am enjoying the storm too and not just looking at models...I just like to see how the cam's do as an event is going on
  10. I dont know been watching the rap and hrrr and the omega is there dgz is pretty stacked from 900 to 500mb depth of 18000, thats pretty efficient, looks like around 01z to 06z it goes nuts, pw only like .35-.4 but there is decent vv and 700mb rh during those hours. I will always defer to PF but i see what nws is seeing. there's about 1.5 of artic sand out there right now from 4 hours of light snow. Im really just trying to get a hang of really reading skew-t and 700mb dynamics and moisture so there is that i'm happy no matter what.
  11. Going on gut 7 inches today in my yard. I can tell by the snow i did note nws saying ratios might go down but this is dry right now its gonna get fluffy for early dec
  12. I wouldn't discount anything its ripping in Waterbury Center but determining any snowfall will be a challenge with this wind.
  13. yup 28 here already. Took the trash out in shorts and a tshirt. Had to remind myself for a minute that I love winter. Stayed out for a few minutes to suck it up now. It always makes a difference in the long run forcing the acclimation. Death to all the things that grow
  14. threat went south but no shortage of moisture there will be flooding somewhere possibly central midd to leb line (nevermind moving too fast), but nothing like NY nice complex ene of the finger lakes I think thats why we were slight earlier and moved.....man thats some rain and lightning
  15. lol no summer thread makes sense I guess because it's dead in summer, but man there is some rain coming tonight, i just feel it

  17. Dude it is dumping hard literally pouring snow at well over inch an hour right now
  18. damn best explanation ever/ It goes for that garfield area of hyde park too up by green river res. Just a magical place for snow. Everything that comes down the lamoille valley and has a little elevation just gets crushed because theres nothing else to stop it it is essentially the upslope between say whiteface (aka sterling but not the sterling at smuggs it's confusing) and idk belviedere as far as peaks go. I did not explain that well, but there's just enough rise coming out of the lamoille valley that this area gets so much snow
  19. drove thru it coming back from burlington. it was dumping 28 and very wet huge flakes. an inch in the left lane. the most crazy plow ever was coming though. Seriously I need to know more about this plow. It was huge and hard to pass and red and yellow. I have never seen anything like it
