What? Dude created the golden snow shovel ffs. He would literally take his entire segment to salivate about snow. I am sensing a whole bunch of Marylanders up in here who never watched him

I didnt watch him much . Just saw him sporadically.  Maybe i just caught him at  less then favorable times for snow. Been many years

I agree . Ryan would always be too low on the big ones but would increase his forecast as the storm was on going.

I agree, i always got the feeling Ryan  didnt like snow at all and didnt want to forcast ut unless he absolutely  had too and the storm was on top of us

I posted that a couple days ago. That’s below climo for most of us…

I was just thinking that.   Below climo and pretty conservative  considering the  patterns setting up for this winter with elnino.   I would think 20-40 inches, instead of 10-20 in my opinion

The others aren't even in the same ballpark.

I'm only half serious, and there is a disclaimer, and all that, but...I can't wait for @Jebman to see this.

(Thanks @Terpeast, for the nice work.)

Oh man to have a repeat of the 2009-2010  winter would be a dream for alot of us!!!!

12z GFS trended a touch colder at the surface.  A lot of the higher res guidance is dropping dew points ahead of precip into the upper 20s and lower 30s along the 81 corridor.

Looks like western areas from west of Hagerstown to Cumberland may be in for a descent ice event.  Fairly good agreement on 0.25" - 0.5" falling as zr there for New Years Day.  Looks like winter storm watches will be needed there later today.

May get an advisory level event across central MD, into northern VA, and then west of the Blue Ridge to around Harrisonburg.

    Hope the cold trend continues!!

I drove to northern Jersey this morning and just got home. I don't feel bad at all...just sayin if you know what I mean.  Bare ground

And I can confirm that north of there in SE NY State -- the Goshen and Middletown, NY areas (about 45 min drive east of Scranton) -- also had no snow with this last event.  They've had some snow already, but not lately.

** Lowest temp so far for the season this morning IMBY.

I got about 6.25 inches of snow in sparrows point MD with this past weekends event
