    So it’s near a pool?

if all of the local ASOS sites are well above your readings that’s an indication your readings are off. I don’t know what else to say.

Muttontown is 12 feet+ away from the pool.  I have two stations (N Syosset & Muttontown) a couple of miles within each other and they are .2 or so within each other during the day for their highs. They are fine.  I don’t live next to an ASOS which are surrounded by blacktop that are not in either neighborhood. When I lived in Great Neck it was hilarious seeing LGA always warmer yet I guess my GN station was just wrong all the time then too. Seems like you can’t accept microclimates of LI if they don’t read 90+ all the time. I’m tenths of degrees away from 90 at times at both yet they are wrong. Guess I should move the stations to the edge of the properties next to the street, winter lows will bust warm but at least I can have those hot summer temps.

Both ISP and FRG recorded heat waves. (ISP hit 90 today).

your readings are too low. Maybe they are too close to grass, trees, etc.

no way all of the LI stations, which are LIE south record a heat wave and you do not.

I’ve had less sun today and got a pop up shower. My stations are fine. Both VP2 with fan shields on them. Is your station fan aspirated?  Are the stations around you fan aspirated too?  Good for FRG and ISP I don’t live at those locations.

What’s even more hilarious is the Muttontown station should be hot as can be since it’s on a tripod 6’ over the pool patio stone at my parent’s house baking in the sun, yet it’s not.

Central Park and areas right on the south facing waters didn’t and that's it.   Saying NYC didn’t get a heatwave is ridiculous.

I didn’t on the N Shore either at both my stations FWIW.

nyc only had  2 days of over 90 degree heat and doubtful we hit 90 today so officially nyc would not have had a heatwave..

It’ll be close today depending on the when the clouds arrive. I’m 87 already in Syosset and if I get 90 today it’ll be a heatwave for me.

NW Nassau (Port Washington) here, very quick storm but extremely intense. Tons of lightning and wind, though not a huge amount of rain. Downed trees everywhere. My husband had to drive on someone's lawn to get home. Our power is out. It was sunny after 5 before it happened and it's sunny again now. But!

That storm just missed me at work in Great Neck Plaza.  Hope your power is back up quickly.

Looks to be a chance of some rain tonight as a low moves from the south to our area. I need some rain in my area.

I’ll take more phantom lows this winter.

The 12z Euro backed off on the heat for next week. It continues to correct stronger with the high pressure exiting New England. So we get into a humid SE flow.

Not surprised, has been a theme this whole summer it seems.  Take the under on the extended heat along the coast.  Inland locations from C NJ on S&W look to roast for 5 days of 90+ though.

1” to 1.50”/hr on KOKX. Yellow is 2”/hr rainfall on my RadarScope. Port Washington  to Westbury are in line for that it seems.

With all the blocking, areas just N and W of NYC could see 50s next weekend.

Just had two mornings of 58 for the low in Muttontown on Friday & Saturday.  I’ll take these cooler summer mornings as they come, a welcomed break.

Quality control needed. Note the snowfall section:

They have any hail today? Doesn’t that get recorded as a T of snow? Thought I remember that happening at some other station one summer in the area, maybe my memory is wrong though.
