  1. The warm SSTs are great but will do no good if it stalls and lingers
  2. Seems dumb to let your guard down on this one already- this far out
  3. Just keep in mind of the rain impacts this will have in addition to king tides. Track isn't the only story.
  4. Mid and long range, use the ensembles. Best advice anyone can give you.
  5. Another terrible severe warning from BOX. Do they have the ability to loop base velocity and see how putrid their warnings are?
  6. Like I said earlier- we know it will come close. All depends on blocking after it gets near Carolina
  7. I think it tickles Carolinas as you say- but after that, we need some days to work out this very unique blocking.
  8. Shocked to see how favorable the environment is in the next few days following this shear. It's basically got all the space in the world to regain strength afterwards and record warm SST's in front of her.
  9. Everything about this is anomalous. But then again, the grand scheme of things, imagine the incredible amount of storms and untracked hurricanes before science and technology. Anyway... This is another similar type of weird track we might see. Similar to Felix. Great comparison.
  10. Yup, that is what I would favor. That building WAR will force Florence to track close to the coast. The west track makes no sense. Steering will turn her north after she hits the western fringe of the HP. It's all about the strength of blocking over Canada. Would sort of look something funky like this.
  11. What was the storm that tracked east of hatteras and then stalled and took a hard turn right? Edouard is a decent comp but I'm favoring this storm I can't remember the name of.
  12. With the ridge as currently forecasted, that seems like most plausible track. No reason to cause panic or sound alarms yet. It's going to track close off the coast of the US, it could still take a track that recurves it after a stall near the coast.
  13. To me, this is either a stall and recurve off mid atlantic with some noreaster like effects, or a swing anywhere from NJ to ME. Don't see the direct shot west as plausible.
  14. Reading a lot of posts to pump the brakes in various places. It's just really concerning to see steering track like that. And heights have trended stronger. It's concerning from Carolina to Maine. Worrysome for Bermuda.
  15. I've been MIA for summer, Florence has awakened me. I imagine this one is already a week into discussion. But lord almighty, that's a eyebrow raising run of recent models. Does the machine finally break through our long climatological hurricane drought?
  16. All that means is drinking on the deck is comfortable as hell!
  17. You guys crack me up. I gave them my 40 and 3 cone shuttle
  18. I applied to NWS to become Logan's official spotter. Not sure my schedule will work. I imagine a retiree is much more up their alley for a role like this.
  19. Bright sunshine and humid here until now. Great timing and directions for storms along and south of mass border. Opposite of all summer's rain.
  20. I know first hand it wasn't! Where did you play? I feel like we definitely had this talk four years ago
  21. Bright sunshine here and not a drop in Dorchester unfortunately.
