  1. Thanks to a couple of cold before midnight days, Jan 1st is the only day this month that I haven't gone below freezing; (was 33).

Tidal South River this morning was not particularly icy, but water level quite low. Typical for post-frontal NW wind days.

18 here this morning, well below forecasts....

I noticed yesterday the LWX discussion called for teens to low 20s for most, but my point - n- clik forecast kept creeping up through mid 20s. The AFD was right.

    Low here 21.

Alright my math teacher is making me get up in front of the class and present about the weekend storm, anyone have any idea on what to say because all I got right now is that there are currently 3 scenarios (strong storm but too warm EURO/ICON, strong storm and cold RGEM/CMC, weak and cold/weak and warm GFS/NAM) and there no way to know which one will happen. I have till 11:08 to prepare my statement...

Do you think you could get one of your buddies to video this presentation and then post it here? (You can edit it first if you're embarrassed).  I, for one, would be willing to buy you a beer for your trouble.

Geese... I live in far NW Cecil County and for the last week or so I have seen literally thousands and thousands of Geese flying South.  I have been here for over 25 years and never have witnessed anything like this.  Sure I have seen some flocks flying over before but in the last week it has been non-stop!  There have been so many and so loud I can hear them while inside my house!  What this means I have no idea but I can tell you it has not happened like this in the last 25 years!

They're all coming to eat our excess acorn crop, unless beaten by the woolly caterpillars  (all black or all brown...can't remember ), and the extra thick corn husks; or onion skins; plus whatever else I missed from you folklore guys.

(This is banter, but started as an obs)

Eta; but I'm glad it's on record now; just in case

Well I certainly don’t want to buy Easter stuff now. I was frustrated this holiday season with craft stores as most of them down here had already sold out of Christmas stuff we needed by mid-December, and were stocking Valentine’s stuff. The new thing seems to be that we have to buy Christmas stuff around Labor Day I guess lol

Craft stores get a pass. Because if you want to buy a kit, construct it, assemble it, paint it, wrap it, hang it and/or send it...you have to start in August. Ask any Girl Scout leader.

An inflatable Minion with Santa hat from Home Depot...that's a different thing.

Thanks to all for the Christmas wishes; and to everyone who helps keep this place functioning all year.

Yes that's definitely my site. It's odd to not see the data from 12/17 to 12/20 on there. I checked my view and it's on there.

Well, I checked again a day later, and now it offers up thru the 18th only. Same for "month" version. (I'm not very familiar with this product)

Well, you did have more than 6 sub-freezing days, so there's that at least.

My post was specific to my COOP site, RSTM2.

I apologize for turning into a nerd, but...Is this your station? I searched for RSTM2 and it gave this Reisterstown one, but I don't see the ID on there. I left the link in the image. (I don't see a link in your sig).

Not trying to be contradictory with the station owner. But, now I want to see if this NOAA thing is the same place.

... The low of 22 this morning was only the 6th sub freezing low of the month.

Do you count 32f? If so, even BWI has 12 this month. (I included this morning)

eta: We all know that if BWI is 32, normally sited stations should easily make 31 or lower.

...Meanwhile, rain. Almost carbon copy of last Sunday night except we won't get a surprise dusting around 3 this morning.

Nov 5 and 12 seem to be the only weekends without rain at my station since Sept 3.  Some pretty minor, but still.... I'm getting sick of rainy Sundays.

Just emptied 0.99" for today. Plenty still falling. Temp 54f

I asked for that dish in a Mexican restaurant once, and the waitress said that's an Italian thing. (Where she worked before). Guy at the next table said it's a French cheese appetizer.  "Quickly with cheese".  Pretty confusing,  so I just had the tacos. Y'know, play it safe.
