  1. McLean roads are covered with 1/3" of snow. you can't even see the pavement, and boy is it slippery out there. Let's see if FCPS should've closed.
  2. Good morning! I woke up to a dusting here in McLean. Lets see how this goes.
  3. gonna call it a night now. set an alarm for 4:30 to watch the snow fall. i'm betting on the fact that FCPS will cancel eventually
  4. Bad is hyperbole IMO. It's only a slight tick downward.
  5. 0.2" QPF makes it up to DC, but kuchera advertises 15:1 ratios, so be aware this is likely too high
  6. relative to the expected storm totals is probably what i should've prefaced
  7. NAM 3km is genuinely looking like a NAM'ing
  8. FCPS is delayed but they will reassess tomorrow for a closure. I am happy. Maybe I will become even happier.
  9. Yes, I know it's 90 %tile, but I just don't understand how this is even remotely possible.
  10. You have a point, but I would disagree. The HRRR 48 hour runs are unreliable, but anything within 24 I would say hold some meaningful weight.
  11. Interesting.... 23z HRRR with the heaviest totals just south of DC.
  12. If you live 20 miles south of DC, you will LOVE the HRRR.
  13. 23z HRRR might be showing what Terpeast is alluding to... there's a heavy band about 25 miles south of DC.
  14. The latest HRRR was one of the snowier models. Are you implying a boom is in the cards?
  15. are we doing an observation thread, or will this be it?
  16. Probably redundant (and if so mods may delete this) but the 22z HRRR is a significant shift north, and it is still snowing at the runs end. Likely would amount to 2-2.5" in DC.
  17. 18z Euro is relatively unchanged DC and points north, but totals are slightly less DC south
  18. i would post both, but unfortunately I don't have infinite attachment space.
  19. it's still moderately snowing at the end of the run, but it's slightly better (in terms of totals) than 18z's full run.
  20. the moon is a secretly a snow god and it's endorsing this storm?
