  1. I could never live there, props to her for giving us a resident of the snowiest place east of the Rockies.
  2. Well we have a winner, probably still snowing there too LOCATION STORM TOTAL TIME/DATE COMMENTS SNOWFALL OF /INCHES/ MEASUREMENT NEW YORK ...Chautauqua County... 3. Same here, picked up almost 4" the last few days. Just stat padding stuff.
  4. Both GFS and Euro have a pretty big snowstorm around March 20/21. Euro is massive actually. https://weather.us/model-charts/euro/2018031400/new-york/acc-precipitation-snow-total/20180324-0000z.html
  5. Whiteout on thruway in Lackawanna right now. About to move through here.
  6. Getting some nice synoptic lift, need Ontario to contribute a little more for central NY
  7. Not sure what to think, Lake Ontario needs to do the heavy lifting. This radar loop looks good. It's hitting at nighttime, everything is working in its favor to accumulate several inches. I never saw the totals that KBUF was seeing, I guess we will see.
  8. Congrats on the forecast and the great storm. Were you measuring hourly? You were updating your total every hour on the forums. Isn't it supposed to be 6 hour increments? I got scolded back in Nov 2014 for doing measurements every 4-5 hours.
  9. Oh I thought they lived near Erie PA. That would be a good spot then.
  10. Just had a band of heavy snow move through, those streamers mean business.
  11. That's a pretty far drive from your relatives in NW PA. I think the southern tier of NY would be better as you'll definitely be satisfied with the amount of snow, better job opportunities, and be close to your relatives. Plus me and Devin will have somewhere to stay when we chase. Either way we will be happy if you move to the area.
  12. That's an impressive WWA for KBUF. I just don't see it. Light snow takes forever to accumulate in mid march. ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 2 AM EDT THURSDAY... * WHAT...Snow and blowing snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 11 inches are expected. * WHERE...Niagara, Orleans, Northern Erie, and Genesee counties. * WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 2 AM EDT Thursday. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan may become difficult, mainly at night when the snow will more easily accumulate on untreated road surfaces. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph Wednesday and Wednesday evening will generate areas of blowing and drifting snow...and could help to bring down snow covered tree limbs.
  13. Pretty cool radar loop. Definitely see diurnal influences. It's like snow supercells out there across the GL right now.
  14. I saw deathband 52 times in the NE forum earlier today. They don't even know what deathband is until they go inside an intense LES band.
  15. I remember back in Nov 2014 getting scolded from the NE crew for measuring every 4-5 hours instead of 6 because I couldn't keep up with the snowfall rates and shoveling. Over there they measure every hour.
  16. I don't know how Boston does it. 3rd storm this year with snow totals over 2'.
  17. March is WNY best synoptic month. And there has been countless times with 60s and 70s in March. March 2012 brought mid 80s. The average high is in the 40s already.
  18. I do, this weather is depressing in Mid March. Unless it's a big dog, please bring me warmth. I want to open my windows and feel the sun!
  19. Intellicast radar works for Erie as well as cod dupage radar. There is still some spotty coverage though.
  20. Foot of snow in Springville already. https://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=buf&product=PNS&issuedby=BUF&format=ci&version=1
  21. I’ve been following their radar since the early season big events. They’re definitely over estimating based on what I’ve seen. Radar showed very little for Erie airport and they’re reporting totals higher than other places in which should of had more. They must have gotten a new met to measure this year.
