  1. The antibody testing is even worse. Has like a 30% success rate. Matthew Stafford also had a false positive covid test. I spoke with a client of mine who works at department of health in erie county and shes seen several as well.
  2. I agree with this, but in this instance I just don't see how tens of thousands of scientists would jeopardize their morale and licenses for the sake of pleasing political agendas after devoting their entire life for the betterment of our country.
  3. This country has a real problem with being anti science. My entire Facebook is flooded with conspiracy theories about the coronavirus and anti vaccine. They think everything is corrupt. While many things are, I just don't see how scientists and those in the medical world that go to school for 10-15 years to help people would be involved in a giant ponzi scheme to deceive the country.

  5. I guess we will see if there on any side effects to a vaccine pretty quickly. Leave it to Russia to bypass all medical research standards and go right into vaccinating everyone. Coronavirus: Russia plans mass vaccination campaign in October https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-53621708
  6. A friend of mine got it pretty bad in March for 2 weeks and just completed one of the hardest hikes in the northeast with no effects to his lungs. Some good news for the day.
  7. I believe NY is at 50% capacity as of 2 weeks ago. I'm not sure if we will see the full effects for a little bit of that. Gyms, movie theatres, concerts, and sporting events are still not happening. Everything else is going and bars and restaurants are packed outside. The real test is when the temperatures start cooling down in 1-2 months. I think we have a tough time here in winter if kids go back to school especially.
  8. Everything has been opened for awhile here in New York. Indoor dining has been open with no spikes. I think it has to do with mask wearing here. It's extemely rare to see someone not use one. I went to a restaurant yesterday and it was so organized. 6 feet apart to order, everyone wearing a mask inside and outside. Even going for a walk along the water people were conscious to stay 6 feet apart walking by.
  9. My bad, didn't see. I deleted it. It would explain quite a bit in how places are nearly fully open in hard hit states for 2 months without an increase in cases. One could conclude that it is making its way across the country.
  10. Could be huge https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/30/health/t-cells-coronavirus-study-wellness/index.html
  11. I think what he meant was that only around 20% of people actually got furloughed/laid off and collected Unemployment. The rest of us continued to work and not much has changed as of yet. We have actually received more money with the $1200 checks. Many people including me had designated funds set aside for vacations. Mine were New Zealand/Norway this year. I am using that money to make home improvements instead. Many others are likely doing the same.
  12. His tenants are too lazy to do something like this. He gave them this paperwork and nothing has come of it yet.
  13. My dads tenants haven't paid rent since March. He is struggling. Something needs to be done to help out.
  14. You should see the stock buybacks and ceo bonuses from the 2008 buyouts. We personally paid for millions of bonuses for failed greedy management teams in sub prime lending. Completely mind blowing how that is legal.
  15. I am the same way, but the American economy only does so well because the majority spend way beyond their means. My only debt is a 2.75% mortgage payment.
  16. This is true if you include fast food workers/restaurants (tip based). Tip based industries never claim their full tips so that is highly subjective. Waitresses make insane money around here with tips+wage. But UI is calculated based on claimed income. Fast food never closed, and restaurants were only closed for 1-2 months depending on what state.
  17. I need to move to Mass. I know the cost of living there is very high. But with dependents they were making $1834 a week. (95K annual) $823 (Individual) up to $1,234 (w/dependents)
  18. "Almost everyone out of a job since this started is being paid more than the were while working. Most, not all." Incorrect.
  19. My wife is unable to go back to work for awhile as foreclosures are delayed until at least Aug 19th in New York State and likely longer. Really hoping they extend the UI benefits even if they slash the $600 in half. Her law firm of 200 people with offices in New York, Long Island, and Florida are still closed. Most of these employees are making far less on UI then they were working at the firm.
  20. That's pretty sad if that's the case. Michigan MAX UI per week is $362. Not everyone gets the maximum amount. This was a temporary 4 month relief, it wasn't meant to last forever and it isn't. Add in the $600 and you're at 962 per week * 52 and thats 50k a year. The average US salary is According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the median wage for workers in the United States in the first quarter of 2020 was $957 per week or $49,764 per year. So your notion is simply incorrect. 50k a year isn't even that good in my poor little city of Buffalo. https://www.savingtoinvest.com/maximum-weekly-unemployment-benefits-by-state/
  21. Well they didn't plan well enough if they're canceling 2 games already. The NHL just tested everyone with zero cases in their bubble.
  22. Pretty shocking the MLB didn't plan for this. Literally inevitable that something like this was going to happen. The bubbles with NHL and NBA have a chance but MLB and NFL, no chance the season finishes. Really sucks as the Bills have the best team its had since the Kelly years and more importantly Brady is gone.
