CMC is a shellacking, we straddle the freezing line but 850s are good to go. I expect to see some gaudy numbers again on the clown map when its out.
-
GFS looks to have slowed down the northern stream energy at 102.
-
Cold dome pressing a lot more at 144, would be really nice to get a phase and a turn to the NE here instead of exiting stage right.
-
Looks like our s/w hitting southern california has a little more spacing with the one out in the Pacific this run at 120.

198 is the money panel.

It's a big hit for south and central VA.
.5" in N MD
3-4" in DCA
7-8" in CHO
12" in RIC
Excellent run. If 3-4 inches of non-mixing snow falls in the first half of December it’s a huge win. And with this kinda set up we know that being on the northern edge at this lead isn’t necessarily bad.

I like look of the Euro at 168 much better than the GFS, flatter flow so at least it won’t cut.

Yeah, cutter incoming. Oh well, to be expected
Not so sure about that, HP in NY state, snowing down to SW VA....we'll see I guess.
Edit: yuck, you're right.

Not somuch what it shows verbatim QPF wise but the track/transfer happens entirely to our south. That's a pretty good solution. It's not all that cold leading in so any slp track that approaches to our west pretty much kills any chance at snow. I don't trust the solution but it shows how it can work here.
Very nice run. Let's keep the trend going.

38 degrees and pouring buckets, good practice for winter!

R you there? Yea..Saranac is the Bradford, Pa of NY. There always -20s -30s in deep winter .
No, I wish I was. I go up to the ADKs though for vacations. They have a nice snowpack now and great skiing/hiking conditions.

Pretty chilly here, currently -13 at Saranac Lake NY. This is a serious arctic airmass for November.

One of those weird nights where it’s cooler here in Takoma Park than NYC or Boston.

Pinging in Columbia Heights, DC. Was hoping that big band south of us would be snow.
-
Radar looks great, wonder how long the column can hold in around I-95.
-
Temp down to 30/31 in the middle of the urban heat island. Very impressive.
-
Really amazed at what I’m seeing out here in DC. Looks like January!

Borderline SN+ in NW DC now
-
Roads in DC are about to be a disaster in about a half hour to an hour.
-
Even sticking on 16th street in busy traffic now.
-
SN and starting to stick on driveways/side roads in NW, temp down to 32. Beautiful.
-
Sleet changing over to snow in Takoma Park. Grassy surfaces and cars turning white.
-
Wasting a good setup in November. I wish we could bank this for January.

Impressive roar when that first gust came through. Sounded like 40-50 mph stuff.
