  1. I was struggling with traction big time on my gravel drive clearing snow today, and that's with a 5000lb 4 wheel drive tractor.
  2. Wandered around the yard and took some pics this afternoon. A snow covered Hemlock grove, a (very unfinished) shed project in the works that kind of shows the pack depth on the roof (the trim at the end of the porch rafters is 1x8 for reference, and the Warner river flowing about 2 feet lower than the ice canyon of its own making.
  3. As I had stated on Saturday, "I will choose to believe that the 3"+ zone denoted by the pink outline makes just a tiny bit further up to my house." - Which proved correct as I got 2.5"! Interpolation for the win! The switch to orange from pink did throw me off until I realized the pink one was an earlier forecast, lol.
  4. Updated snow chart. Added a column for total ground snow depth post storm. Missing a bunch of data because I wasn't taking it. Will do better from here on out. 32" on the season.
  5. Also, updated snow chart. I'll throw this in the other thread as well. I've added a total snow depth column but it's missing a bunch of data because, well, I never took it. Up to 32" now!
  6. Oh don't you worry. I've got more and more elaborate setups planned for you guys.
  7. Ended up with 2.5" total. Not too bad really. Snow depth on the ground is now averaging 12.7" Please see pic for proof. I made sure I wasn't stick slanting this time, at least in one dimension. You're just gonna have to trust me on the other ;).
  8. Oh, I meant that the pack won't remain over a foot.
  9. Nice wintry scene. Snow has picked up a little since taking this photo. Hoping to crack 2.5" total. Over a foot on the ground now too - course that ain't gonna last.
  10. 2.2" here and 26.3 degrees. Somehow managed to snag 1" of that before around 1:30am. Still snowing lightly.
  11. 27.9 degrees and already reached 1" of fluff. Downstream radar looks terrible (as in, it's about to end), but HRRR insists I'm due for another round several hours from now that could put down another 2-3". Not so sure of that.
  12. I don't know who Wood is, but is seems like the status of you and their hole is a private matter, and shouldn't be stated.
  13. Yes, I'm aware the ICON is shit. Here's the 00z GFS Kuchera. Most of the accumulation depicted in central VT and the lakes region of NH is actually from tonight's nonsense.
  14. 488.57 degrees Rankine and snowing lightly in Bradford.
  15. Good a guess as any, haha. 770' is pretty high up there, even for Manhattan.
  16. I'd be impressed if he was reporting from the 770' location in Manhattan.
  17. Build up ramps on both sides and have people jump over it. Very safe and cool.
  18. 00z HRRR gets me pretty good, but we all know how accurate that can be. Love the signal the higher resolution models produce on elevated terrain. They're not quite high enough resolution to completely nullify modeled accumulation "bloating" on the computer generated maps, and since I live so close to the Sunapee Massif I'm nearly always modeled (per geographic location on the map) as getting the goods even though I'm only at 890ft. My favorite hobby is choosing to believe that snow is mine. As it should be.
  19. Your Honor, my defense is as follows! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Small-angle_approximation
  20. It's been slightly above freezing for the past two days here but cloud cover has really prevented much in the way of snow melt. Went around poking the yard stick into the ground and averaged about 10.5" of depth. Please see pic for proof. This was one of the higher measurements, but as you can see, there might have been a bit of a "skew" to the measurement device. A scientific analysis using MS Paint seems to have proved as much. I am nothing but honest.
