  1. Got down to 4.6 here this morning. Still at 7.8 and breezy.
  2. The poor Vermont coverage is even mentioned in the NEXRAD wiki page, lol. See below Coverage gaps[edit] NEXRAD coverage below 10,000 feet WSR-88D has coverage gaps below 10,000 feet (or no coverage at all) in many parts of the continental United States, often for terrain or budgetary reasons, or remoteness of the area. Such notable gaps include most of Alaska; several areas of Oregon, including the central and southern coast and much of the area east of the Cascade Mountains; many portions of the Rocky Mountains; Pierre, South Dakota; portions of northern Texas; large portions of the Nebraska panhandle; the Four Corners region; the area around the Northwest Angle in Minnesota; an area near the Connecticut River in Vermont;
  3. Given how awful the radar looked over my head for the duration of this event, I'm surprised I managed to snag 3.1" (high ratio fluff). Went around jamming the yard stick in the yard and averaged 11.8" for total snow depth. Even managed to push it in 90 degrees to the ground (for the most part). Please see the below table for my season's goodies thus far. (Please note listed dates are when I measured and do not necessarily reflect the start of the event.)
  4. I guess this is what I deserve when I stated my desire to steal everyone's snow yesterday, haha. Don't want to step outside right now lest I be struck by a stray flurry.
  5. Yeah, being to your west, I'm currently stuck in no man's land. Radar over my noggin not lookin' to good.
  6. 03z RAP Kuchera, courtesy of Pivotal Weather. Please note the black arrow that points to a local maximum - where I might or might not live. From this, I can conclude that the RAP must be the greatest weather model ever devised.
  7. Absolutely terrible photo of Orion that I just off the back deck by holding my phone. The fact you can make out some of the nebulosity in the Orion nebula itself - even while through a thin cloud layer - is a testament to how far camera sensors have come over the past few years. Tis also rather cold out. At 10.6⁰.
  8. Not unscathed here this morning, though not terribly surprised. Hard to tell how long much snow we got, but there's 6 new inches of fresh cement on my truck.
  9. Rather robust icicle formation on the house today. Some of those suckers are already over 40 inches long. Not a great testament to 1980's insulation practices.
  10. Just took a bunch of measurements here in Bradford and averaged 11.2" on the ground. Also popped my New England driver cherry and put my truck in a ditch about 400 yards from my house. Only took 15 winters up here to finally manage that. Props to the gentleman in the Bronco that pulled me out. Also props to the little 4 inch pine that stopped my truck from going further into the ditch without damaging anything - just a little smooch!
  11. 3.12" total here in Bradford. See normal flow (taken 8 days ago) vs. flow this afternoon of the west branch Warner River in the backyard. Hardly any wind here in this little valley.
  12. Ending with a few mood flakes as that last band pushes through. Here's a before and after shot of the Warner river in the backyard. First one taken yesterday afternoon and the second this morning. Roaring pretty good from the house.
  13. 1.66" of rain here. Still a little snow on the ground. Wind has picked up a little and a few flakes are starting to mix in.
  14. Surprised to still be holding on to snow cover in the yard - especially since it slopes to the south (albeit very gently). Sitting at 36.5 degrees here in Bradford.
  15. Nothing they can't handle, but the white pine, hemlock, (and a couple of spruce!) are getting their first snow-laden workout of the season. A good warm-up.
  16. Have about 5.5" (compacted) here in Bradford. Wet stuff.
  17. 1.33" in the Stratus (thanks for the recommendation!). Nothing too crazy here in Bradford, just a consistent, steady rain.
  18. Probably off topic, but is there a recommended rain gauge type/model/manufacturer people use? I've got mine as about out in the open as I can, but I'm now a little suspicious of that 6.05" I had reported here, given that the highest official reporting I can find for my area is around 4.5". I am on the very west end of Bradford and right at the base of the east slope of Mount Sunapee, but I'm not sure that would be enough to bump me up that much?
  19. Up to 6.05". Road into center of town was getting closed off as I was heading back home. DOT guy (or whatever authority, not sure) had just set out cones but was like, yeah, you can try it, good luck! About a foot of water on the road from the river coming over. Made it through with a 3/4 ton pickup, don't recommend anyone do that though.
  20. Finally have a lull here. 5.45" since starting around 4pm yesterday. West Branch Warner River has spilled over on to Fairgrounds Road here in Bradford.
  21. 1.0" additional in Bradford, NH since I checked this morning. Passed 5.0" total for this event. Radar returns just to my west have looked quite a bit more robust than over my head. Looks like half of Vermont is going to end up washed into the Long Island Sound.
  22. Off to the races again here in Bradford after a bit of a lull overnight. 0.4" new and just passed 4.0" for this event. Radar is looking healthy too.
  23. 4" triplet riding on a 6" triplet in my profile picture! I do image, though not through either of those scopes.
