  1. Getting pounded in Columbia.
  2. Darkening skies to the SW. A few cells popping. Hit or miss for sure.
  3. Charlottesville, Va. now at 24 consecutive days of 90+ high temps (including 101 on 7/19/20).
  4. Pretty warm morning IMBY. Briefly dipped below 80 overnite (79.7) but awoke 5:30am to 80.5. Still time to drop just below 80 again before sunrise. Don't see too many mornings in this 'burb hanging around 80.
  5. 97 imby today, slightly warmer than my warmest day all last summer. And at 9:30, still a muggy, uncomfortable 88.2.
  6. Charlottesville has 23 days running now of 90+ high temps.

  8. I was up at 12:30 this morning. It was pouring, with minor thunder and maybe a couple brief lightning flashes. During the evening there was a fairly sold line of rain (lots of yellows and reds) moving east out from the Potomac Highlands. The line gradually began diminishing and breaking up, but there was one small red cell that survived and just happened to pass over Columbia. Location, location, location!!!
  9. First decent 20-min downpour in a while in Columbia.
  10. Heavy 10-min downpour with a cell that popped up in my ‘hood. Sun is back out.
  11. 0.41” imby Thursday on east side of Columbia. Not great, but not a total miss either.

  13. The waiting yesterday late PM was painful. But the results .... more than satisfying!
  14. ''Columbia Death Band'' FTW! 5" between approx 5-10pm, 12.3" total.
  15. 9.5" to 10" plus/minus looks like a good average at 9pm for eastern HoCo area.
  16. Exactly what I measured. Thought I was seeing things. Gotta be on either side of 9" now.
  17. Finally got into the good stuff about 30 mins ago.
  18. Pouring to the left of me, Banding to the right, Here I am stuck in the middle .....
  19. Activity slowly picking up again. 29.7 degrees
  20. 9:40am -- went out out 9am to do Shoveling Round #1. Good timing as a lull moved in near end of shoveling. At 9am, measured about 5.0"-5.25" .... and then probably a decent 0.5" more while shoveling for 1/2 hr before the lull, so approaching 5.5"-6.0" OTG before any compacting during lull. Current temp is at the low for the day at 26.5° after being about 27-28 at midnite. Steady, very lite snow continuing.
  21. 6:30am: 25.6° with snow falling. Coffee-ing up and then will go out for first round of shovelling and will measure. But eyeballing, looks like 5"
