  1. 12Z GFS and GEFS though looked like an improvement over the prior two runs. Honestly when I decided to take vacation in January to come back home I did not think I would be tracking a potentially significant winter weather threat in this area. lol. I wasn't here for the event in January 2018 (based in Hawaii at the time).
  2. CMC is insane for us in South Georgia. Temps in the mid 20s with 1-2 inches of ice. Similar to ICON, but colder.
  3. I've been refreshing for the last 10 minutes lol. Stuck right before the good part. Weatherbell hasn't updated yet either.
  4. ICON drops a casual 1.5-2 inches of freezing rain across most of South Georgia with temps in the 28-30 degree range. Damn
  5. GFS and Euro ensemble means have been skewed by a couple of members that show like 20-30 inches of snow in the Carolinas.
  6. Increasing number of ensemble members no longer showing the first wave. There are still some big hits in there.
  7. A foot of snow here, 2 inches of ice, or 33 and rain.
  8. Here's the accumulated freezing rain chart for us southern Georgia and Florida peeps.
  9. Yep definitely more freezing rain being depicted down here on this run. Next week is gonna be a fun one. I'm supposed to fly out back to Australia on 22nd and the town I'm based in might be impacted by a significant tropical cyclone. Fun tracking tropical cyclone threat back in Australia and rare winter weather threat down here.
  10. The US Airforce GALWEM which is based on the UK model was a decent hit for Northern Florida, Central to South Georgia, majority of South Carolina, and central to eastern North Carolina. Pretty much all snow and on the back end of the storm even brings frozen precip down to Orlando and Tampa.
  11. Yes on Pivotalweather.com. https://www.pivotalweather.com/model.php?m=iconens&p=sfcmslp-meanmem&rh=2025011400&fh=loop&r=conus&dpdt=&mc=&pwplus=1
  12. Lmfao. I'll take 2 inches of ice please.
  13. Well this is interesting. Light sleet and snow flurries down here in Waycross, GA. Back home in USA from Australia for first time in 3 years and we got wintry precip down in South Georgia. ICON model actually did a pretty good job showing that potential.
  14. This tornado hit my brother's house. Just got off video chat with him. Significant damage in neighborhood. He's been there for 9 years and first time actually getting hit by a tornado.
  15. Yep. I tried resetting the password but it wouldn't let me log back into that account.
  16. Gusting to 100MPH now. Jesus Christ. Family back home saying it's insane right now.
  17. 75KT wind gust just recorded near my hometown (KAMG). Power pretty much out to entire town. My mom said roof on next door neighbor's house just got blown off and stuff is flying everywhere. They are terrified right now. Might not seem bad to others but Southeast Georgia is getting wrecked. They weren't under a hurricane warning either.
  18. Yep that's me! Holy shit you remembered the town too. Haha. And yeah I've been an Airforce Meteorologist for the last 7 years. Been quite the journey. In Germany last winter, we went the entire winter with no measurable snow basically. Everyone typically takes their snow tires off April 1st. On April 2nd, we got an inch of snow. No big deal, but then the following week, we got 7 inches of snow in 3 hours, people stuck on the roads (no snow plows anywhere) and trees down everywhere. Also 5 different occurrences of thundersnow that night. I actually got one on video. Definitely my favorite weather moment.
  19. Damn I haven't posted here in like 2 years. I've been trying to log into my other account, but won't let me (forgot password) and confirmation email never goes through. How's everyone been doing?
