  1. CT National in Putnam is a good track too.
  2. It’s 1hr30min for me so that’s good enough. Like Steve says, Thompson has a nice course plus another private one that @powderfreak mentioned a couple weeks back that are offering tee times to the public now. Whatever works.
  3. That’s the idea. I think ECT/RI border is less than a 2hr drive for you?
  4. I’ll even make the drive to ECT/RI border if someone from EMA is down to play.
  5. Anyone down for Wintonbury Hills in Bloomfield CT next Thur or Fri? Great course...
  6. So @PowderBeard...what’s the ideal mixture to use for top dressing the lawn come fall for my purposes? I have an uneven lawn but it’s quite acidic. Lime applications hasn’t done much the past two years. So I’d like to core aerate and top dress. Thanks.
  7. EEE, ticks, covid...it’s just not safe to leave the house anymore. Well...I’m off to the driving range.
  8. I missed the event...does Barkley still have the worst swing in the world? Not sure he can rag on anyone’s golf game.
  9. Both but more top dressing. I’m going to core aerate in the fall and topdress my acidic lawn. Just getting fed up with the battle of my shit soil. I’ve limed it several times the past two years...no improvements. I’m running anywhere from 4-5 on the ph scale in certain spots.
  10. Got out there again today, posted an 83. Struggled off the tee at times...if I can fix that part, my game would get to the next level. Came within a foot of my first ever ace on a par3 148yd with my precious 9iron. As is, I’m hovering around good but not great play.
  11. What’s the best mixture for our climate to topdress? Not going to do it now but early fall the plan is to aerate and topdress it.
  12. All it takes is a couple pure shots to make it worthwhile lol. It’s good to be out regardless though.
  13. Nice boys...season just getting started.
  14. Yup...back to who I really am lol. Although this Pete Dye course was pretty tough. Still, 93 is meh. Swung it OK but putted terrible. Next.
  15. Ha...Geez. That’s a brutal response. A no thank you but appreciate you trying to get the golf AMWX crew out would have sufficed lol. I kid...I get it. Next time I’ll drive the 5 hours round trip in hopes that someone from EMA shows up.
  16. I know man. I was looking at The Ranch in Southwick MA but that doesn’t help you much either lol. One day...we will play, one day.
  17. I booked a 1030 tee time on golfnow and there are still 3 players left at that time. So if anyone wants to rock, book it and PM me. Thanks.
  18. Anyone down to play Wintonbuy Hills in Bloomfield CT this Thursday?
  19. This is a great one for simplifying the swing:
  20. These guys helped me a bunch the past couple years. https://www.youtube.com/user/meandmygolf
  21. Same here a little while ago. Had some impressive squall like snows this morning too. For mid May, damn impressive.
  22. So true. I felt them start to creep up around the 16th but I was able to fight it off. Hopefully I can keep my mind around (body turn, shift weight to front, and let it fly). As the season goes it seems like I start getting too technical and too eager to tweak this and that. I kept it simple today...need to repeat that thought process from now on.
  23. Get it in man, enjoy. I’m playing next week as well. I think they could have spread out the tee times to every 20min instead of 10min but we rarely had to wait. Everyone seemed to play ready golf. Although the bumpy greens had a lot to do with it. I’m sure players got it within 5ft and just called it. Keeping the flags in also helps the pace of play.
  24. Snuck in 18 for my bday at Whitney Farms in Monroe. Put up an 82. Best ball striking round of my life. Had the greens been legit and not recently aerated with sand...would have cracked 70s. All those youtube videos over the winter paid off. All downhill from here ha.
