RAH is lukewarm at best. Maybe a few inches along the VA border; zilch everywhere else. Are the model amounts typically this divorced from the local NWS office?
RAH always seems to be playing catch-up with GSP and RNK.

Is it me or has the path shifted more NW and east once on shore?
It’s about a 50 mile shift to the NW since this morning’s 11:00 AM advisory.

I don’t wish Florence on anyone and hope all avoid the worst, but selfishly IMBY, I’m pleased with the Euro trend. Half a foot of rain is bad enough, but I don’t want any part of two feet coupled with tropical storm force winds. We all love weather and the wonders it brings, but it’s not worth having a couple of huge oak trees on the house.

Cantore is in Wilmington/Carolina beach already!!!
Oh, no. That means it’ll make landfall in Savannah.

I’ve been hoping for long shot OTS solution, but that looks increasingly unlikely. This could be a once-in-lifetime event for millions of people in most of NC and much of VA. Prepare now.

Generator Talk. [snip]
Good advice. This is what I do with my Honda EU3000is. I can plug it directly into my box, but there’s no point with 3,000 watts. I’m not running the entire house. I use heavy duty extension cords to power the basics like refrigerator, freezer, fan, phone charging, microwave, radio, etc. When buying, look for an internal inverter.

Here goes..... I was trying to make money in 2010 to move on, but weird energy stuff started happening and I got real big. This was unexpected eventually by 2013 I met my obstacle to the money piece. So I had to go back home rebuild.... it was surprising the stocks would move against me more than my ability to make money, especially because there was no reason...
I began predicting weather in spare time to make use of awesome pattern recognition ability and enhancing, and I think the wrong people got a hold of my December forecast because it has not been warm because of strange cold pattern. Now this storm is dry and there is a line going through Kansas to Canada...
Did you use predictive text as a writing aid? Let me try...
”First thing tomorrow morning and I’ll let y’all in the next time you want me to pick you up at the house. I think you might have to put the money back home before you leave the office.”

I don't know how much he got, but I am sure it underperformed his expectations.
He hasn't been on the board since early this morning. He either did so well that he's preoccupied or so poorly that he's depressed.

My bad. I'm a transplant (although going on 11 years now), but Greensboro still tends to be "that one little town that gets the good stadium rock concerts" to me.
Haha! True. The little metro with only 1.7 million people.
Of the three metros in the NC Piedmont, never bet against the Triad to win the snow contest. It will win 3 out of 4 times.

I don't know anything about how television weather networks work, but I assume in edge cases like this they prioritize large viewership metros over anything else. Whatever it takes to keep the most people watching. But maybe I am overly cynical.
You'd think they'd want the most dramatic images and stories. They should've done their homework. We should have warned them about the legendary northwest trend. That's how it works in NC.

TWC has Reynolds Wolf and Scott Newell in Raleigh and Mike Seidel in Charlotte. Great job, guys!
Greensboro? Where's that? Our weather pros have never heard of it. Haha! Fools.
-
Stupid how TWC sends to road reporters to Raleigh and Charlotte just to witness wet slush.

I have relatives in Columbia, TN who said they're up to 4" of all snow, but I can see grass in their latest photos. Looks like 1" or 2" at most. I'm smelling some bull hockey.

After all this hype and watching a week of the strike zone being forecasted to be to my southeast, I'm on pins and needles waiting to see what happens tonight. I don't want to even physically move out of fear of the butterfly effect.
I'm lowering my expectations and hoping for 4".

I wish that Jim Cantore wasn't here. He is the total kiss of death when it comes to winter weather. We will be stuck with all the sleet and cold rain in Wake County. Can someone drive him over to the Triad please?
No. Keep him. I'll take my (hopefully) 8" to 12" snow without the attention.

The contradictory PBP posts crack me up.
Less QPF. No, it’s more. Tad south. No, it’s north. Well, I think it’s the same.
