  1. It is tough to get past the stigma of things. I'm used to it as my mother was the same way. But she has come very far and has even allowed me to put a plant in her backyard lol! I firmly believe if that's possible it's just a matter of educating people and acclimating them to a new culture. Many mgs of THC will be ingested over the course of the weekend without a doubt
  2. As a cannabis industry professional and owner of a hemp company whose been growing the plant for 15 years, I feel compelled to step in and point out that there are close to 100k deaths per year directly related to alcohol. That doesn't even include disease, addiction and the destruction that follows from alcohol. I love beer and weed, but I have never in my life seen someone harmed by cannabis. Paranoid for about 30 minutes is about the worst effect I've seen. And my friends and I smoked whatever we could find in highschool. It just takes a quick search of "yearly deaths from alcohol" and "yearly deaths from cannabis". Cannabis is medicinal, but like everything else, including the water you drink, quality and moderation is crucial. I love beer too, but I've never seen anyone's life improved by beer. I have countless stores of people using THC and other cannabinoids to improve their quality of life in huge ways. Ok, that's all. Sorry for getting political folks
  3. I have a tripped planned to Jefferson NY this weekend with the lady and I'm really debating cancelling. If I go to NY and miss a once in a lifetime storm for RI I might jump off the Newport bridge. If I cancel and we get an average event I will surely be killed in my sleep. If I can score over a foot I might live. What's the likelihood this thing ends up further west and Charlestown RI ends up with another rainer?
  4. Indeed it is. I like to think that my winter experiences make me appreciate spring more than most lol
  5. I'm sure he doesn't need the extra business right now either lol
  6. I'm shocked you don't promote that more often around these parts
  7. I try to get a post in at least once per event to try to break the lurker stigma, but it's clear my interactions are not significant enough lol. My location doesn't lend me much in the way of positive input so I usually just keep it to myself, but this year has been particularly difficult and there is currently a serious shortage of mental health care professionals
  8. Lol I can't say I didn't expect to get some flack. This the only place I know of with people who share the same feelings I do and I appreciate it for that. So does my girlfriend...
  9. Lol I try to keep it in. I wish I had more to contribute to this thread, but I don't have many weenies in my life and I could use the commiseration. Thank you for bearing with me
  10. Ahhh 36 and rain here in Charlestown. A not so subtle reminder of why this place sucks. I haven't had a moment on this board yet this winter, but damn. There aren't too many things in life that make me as miserable as this weather. It's been a tough winter that's for sure. Looking forward to being in Colorado for the next one. F this
  11. Music to my ears! I'm satisfied with what I have, but that would be icing on the cake
  12. About 5 inches on raised surfaces here in Charlestown RI. Any chance that band will move east enough for me to get a taste before it's over?
  13. I think that people on the mainland such as myself generally use 95 to split e/w. But if we're talking longitudinally then I understand your perspective. It's definitely a special event when our neck of the woods is in the sweet spot. I agree that Charlestown is not ideal, but I'm used to getting 30% of the snowfall that the rest of the board sees so I'll be happy with whatever I get.
  14. RI native chiming in. East bay and west bay have different meanings than Eastern and western RI. Any town that is on gansett bay is eastern RI. If East bay was considered the entirety of eastern RI, that would only account for like 1/10 of the state's land. That's not really how E/W dividing lines work. Anyway, I'm in Charlestown this year and feel like we should be celebrating the fact that we might actually be in the best spot for this "storm". It probably only happens one in every 30 or so NE winter events
  15. I'm right on the Westerly, RI/ Pawcatuck, CT line. Seems like the sweet spot at the moment. Who's betting on Euro vs GFS wind maxes? Somewhere in between maybe? Any chance this slides east a bit? I'd rather have 5 inches of rain on the farm than 50mph winds
  16. Lol! We unfortunately don't produce those types of edibles. We are in a well protected area by the golf courses and usually have minimal wind relative to the area, but our ground is very soft with all of the rain we've had and the soil is not holding the plants as well as we'd like.
  17. All good considerations. We are currently purchasing stakes and preparing for the worst.
  18. I have a hemp farm in Hope Valley, RI and I'm trying to gauge if it's worth $1000 in materials and the next 48 hours of my life staking up an acre of plants. Are we looking at guaranteed 50+ mph winds 10 miles inland? I appreciate any and all input
