Well, despite being a warned storm the gust front never arrived here, although I did get some much needed liquid H2O to the tune of ~.3", bringing me to almost a half inch for the day. -

As Oberyn Martell once uttered to Tyrion Lannister, "I will be your champion Wellsboro"......for the GOT fans out there, I may or may not have added the word Wellsboro...... -

So, I finished June with 2.33" on ten days of measurable precip. Pretty remarkable that for Harrisburg it appears this will be the third hottest June on record despite carrying an anomaly of only 3 degrees above average, and yes I understand those anomalies only compare against the most recent 30-year period, not the entire period of record (in reality it's more like 4.4 degrees above average), but still...... -

That whole Kenai Fjords area is amazing. We had to have our day cruise out of Seward canceled when we were there due to smoke from the wildfires, which were plentiful due to the aforementioned heat wave they were experiencing. Good stuff Training! -

That's awesome Carlisle, sounds like you're having an incredible time! I always tell people you have to get to Alaska at least once, truly unspeakable levels of beauty. How cool is Whittier, with the old one lane rail cave being the only way in or out of the town!? I remember feeling like we were in another world when we came out on the other side with the Caribbean-like turquois waters and the glaciers seemingly emanating right out from the water. If you get a chance, on the way to or from Denali hit up the small touristy village of Talkeetna, cool place. You can walk down to the river and get some incredible views of Denali towering over the landscape even though it's like 60 miles away. The daylight is always wild and it's not like it gets totally dark after sunset haha. I remember coming out of the bars at like 2am with my wife and it was still plenty light out, like a civil twilight. Sounds like you are getting nice classic Alaska weather, whereas when we were there they were having a record heat wave in which Anchorage hit 90 for the first time in its history. I would much rather have what you're having ha. Anyway, enjoy the rest of your trip and feel free to stop back in and let us know how things are going. Cheers! Oh, almost forgot, Hatcher Pass is a place well worth stopping between Anchorage and Talkeetna. You can swim in a fresh mountain top lake one minute and then just a few steps away play in some snow, stunning. -

Welp I got screwed, some brief intense wind gusts but only scattered big drops. Don’t even need to check the gauge to know it’s shy of .01” ugh. -

I'm not sure but there is a data download feature in the upper righthand corner. I haven't tried it yet, feel free to play with it and let me know. It's still a relatively new endeavor and I know they're still working on some things. But for real time it's fantastic. -

I know I mentioned it some time ago but if you're not already you really should be using the Keystone Mesonet website, an absolutely fantastic site for official real time weather data across the state. Check it out..... https://keystone-mesonet.org/ -

I'm now at 99 lads, with a dew of 70 brings me to 106 heat index! Can I do the triple digit dance!? I see the PA Turnpike sensor on the Susquehanna River Bridge at milepost 245.7 hit 100 at 2:03 PM, first semi "official" reading I've seen in the keystone state in the triples. -

Good to know. You're certainly not the first person to have issues with siting the anemometer. I took mine down as well due to being too shielded from the winds. It was only measuring about half of actual wind speed, so not really worth having this weird looking instrument mounted to my deck that my wife hated haha. If you want a good wind reading near us check out the following WU my buddy just started, mounted up high atop his roof, should be able to get some impressive gust readings up there..... https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/KPAMOUNT181 -

Yes I've noticed that, a bit surprising in that my low location off the ridge line usually has me as one of the hotter spots around, but perhaps you get a bit of UHI to offset that? Not sure how "downtown" you really are ha. I'll do my best to support you during these difficult times but I must admit I don't love my current station. It's one of those La Crosse models that looks cute but isn't great for tracking data. Heck, I still haven't figured out how it keeps its high/low temps, seems to only go back a few hours when doing so. Basically, I have to keep pretty good tabs on it to get accurate readings. Also, in the interest of full disclosure, during these long-path sun days in the dead of summer my sensor gets some direct sun during the early morning and late evening hours that causes it to read high during those times, particularly the morning where I basically have to ignore the temps for an hour or two. This despite being stationed on the north side of my house and of course having the housing piece around it that is supposed to prevent that, but naturally doesn't fully do so. I really liked my old station that tracked data better and measured to the tenth of the degree, even though the display wasn't "pretty" ha, but it took a crap after years of service and in a pinch I got one of the trendy Amazon recommended ones. I have a real nice one that was gifted to me in the basement (brand name eludes me at the moment) that I'm waiting to set up until we move to a new location. I've said too much..... -

I hit 98 yesterday. Might have a chance to reach or top that today. HRRR says there's a chance, MOS guidance is not as enthused.
