  1. I’m gonna go out in a limb and say that any snow that falls at your place will stick.
  2. True to an extent, but my temps aren’t that much colder than yours. My take on it is this. If there’s precip falling this time of year, there’s a chance it could be frozen in some form. A chance. Maybe not but a chance. With no precip there’s no chance regardless of temps, pattern, winds, etc LOL. Truth be told, I wish the sun wouldn’t shine 1 minute from Dec 1 to Mar 1. Not one second.
  3. It won’t happen, but look at the air coming into the Canadian prairies at the end of the gfs. Holy moly.
  4. 36/21 at KOKV. Once again, temps ain’t gonna be the issue
  5. I won’t clutter the other thread with this whining. But it’s actually factual. You guys have heard me do this song and dance before, but damn why is it so hard to get meaningful precip? We are sitting at a whopping 1.77 inches since Jan 1. I’ll never abandon the “give me precip, I’ll worry about temps later”. But ... I did see mention of a precip into cad event coming so that’ll cheer me up. Those are usually precip producers. Thank you for your time.
  6. Thanks. I am sometimes starting to worry about my memory but I thought I remembered that one pretty well.
  7. I’ve seen Jan 2011 thrown around with this storm and I can’t see why. IIRC we got hammered by the closed h5 low as it came through. We don’t have that unless I haven’t been paying attention
  8. LOL I wondered why there were no gfs posts. I know why now. Geez
  9. I’m having a hard time reading this small font
  10. Doesn’t have to be so much colder. A degree or two is all it takes.
  11. I think it’s just an overall weaker system than what we were looking about 36 hours ago
  12. It’s gonna snow, usual caveats apply, game time obs will tell, banding will determine who gets the best rates and snow, impossible to predict, lots of little details, models will come into agreement soon, gotta keep expectations in check, lots can change, just happy to be in the game, looks good for a general trace - 8”, just take what falls and be happy.
  13. It’s hard to say because of wind. In areas more sheltered it looks like about a foot on the ground. Could be more but I don’t care enough to check. It is snowing this morning but a lot of this came from the last storm. Of course it’s a different world here. Ground has been snow covered since early December
  14. It needs to stop immediately. It is harmful which you mentioned, and it actually makes roads worse for drivers. It may help plowers but all it does for drivers is turn the first snow that falls into slush which is much harder to drive in than just plain snow.
  15. The scene in WV this morning. That drift is about 4.5’ deep
  16. To me that’s not a shift. Looks like the euro just has a wetter storm than it’s prior run.
