  1. I mean sooner or later the euro has to get something right, doesn’t it?
  2. This was a fun storm. One for the books really when you look at the setup, the cold, and the bomb low pressure and the wild path it took.
  3. You know I thought the same thing. The problem out here with wind is drifting. Can make roads impassable in minutes. But with this crust, that might not be an issue.
  4. I won’t ever underestimate the NAM again. I mean, I’ll never lose respect for his how bad of a model it actually is. All in all, the gfs has to get the nod for me. Euro snow totals were way to high here. NAM was the NAM. GFS came closest to the ground truth.
  5. Absolute glacier out here. Got maybe a 1/4” of freezing rain on top. Temp never got to freezing.
  6. Hey all. Happy that many of you enjoyed the snow. Measurement is proving difficult. I have a measurement from about 15 minutes after the sleet started. Didn’t take another. Went out this morning to try and get another. Didn’t work out. I weigh 212 pounds. Yes I’ve lost 20 since October thank you very much lol. My weight won’t break through this crust completely. That’s amazing. Anyway, broke a plastic ruler trying to get it through. We had heavy sleet for about 2 hours. I’m gonna go with 1/2” of sleet on top of this measurement, but I’m gonna also wait and collaborate with @clskinsfan, @EastCoast NPZ and @notvirga! to try and get as accurate of a measurement as possible. As you can see from the photo the sleet had already started.
  7. Our wind driven snow is coming straight outta the NNE. I’m ok with that
  8. I’d rather see a cutter in a pattern like this. If it stays a cutter then you get the front end snow then sleet then freezing rain because there’s often cad. A slider can easily stay a slider in a cold pattern.
  9. We are losing some to evap. Camera here at my lat but at about 1900 feet shows much more snow falling. Won’t take too long to moisten up though.
  10. Hope you can hang on to ground temps as long as possible once we switch. Same hope here.
  11. Thank you but potential doesn’t always equal outcome. I just hope we can all enjoy winter until about mid March.
  12. Everything dusted immediately. Not a single flake melting.
