    Yea I mentioned in the main thread about how everyone was tossing the 18z nam yesterday because it looked wonky. Im not one to believe the accuracy of the long range NAM, but if it starts spitting out different solutions that dont match up with globals, you at least have to pay attention to it.

    Two sided coin here. 1. First big snow showing since I moved down from Boone to Charlotte that looks like it'll work 2. Why cant I Jackpot once in my life lol. This is sarcasm, its been so long since ive seen snow, even living in the mountains half my life hasn't taken away the joy from me.

    This might be a stretch, and i may be wrong completely as well as my memory doesnt serve too well sonetimes... But I feel like in 2009-2010 there was somewhat of a similar setup storm that the GFS latched onto and did not let go from 5 days out. It was the first one to really dig in on its solution and stuck to it, even trumping Dr. NO.

    Models look great right now...Just as they did last week at this time. Still not sold.

    Although most have missed out snow wise so far (at least to have more than a trace-dusting), this is very quickly turning into a winter to remember. If we get another solid run in February, it'll at least be the most exciting winter for the past several years in the SE.

    Im going to disagree...slightly.... id argue the lighter QPF is a worse outcome as the heavier rates on the higher QPF solutions potentially might not freeze as fast and have more runoff, whereas the lighter solutions might include more of a "drizzle" which could freeze instantly. However thats more of like a hypothetical argument.

    Also charlotte spent all that time and effort brining the roads just for it to all wash away overnight.
