Just seen a report of a waterspout that was seen over Lake Vermillion in N MN. Residents of the small towns (Tower/Soudan), on the S side of the lake, witnessed it. Storms my way stayed in the higher terrain. Was cool in town with a strong lake breeze being drawn in on the updrafts. 0.89" was the final tally from yesterday am's stms in town. Looks like scattered stuff the next couple days, but nothing too organized, thankfully. Need to dry out a bit.

Great week coming up. Getting a bit warm next weekend, but not horrible. Garden should really take off. Unfortunately, that damn smoke is back in the picture this week.

In regards to the major solar event 2 months ago, thought I'd share this YT vid as a summary of what happened, and how it compares to other events. Anton does a good job explaining stuff in the astro world, and the latest stuff that comes out. Been subscribed for a long time. Worth the watch.

Got woke up early this am with loud cracks of thunder. Bout of rain netted 0.86" in short order. More rounds of shwrs/stms later this aftrn forecasted as LP moves through. Summer really kicking in this week into next weekend with highs slated in the mid 70's-mid 80's. Could see some 90's crop up around here next weekend. That's getting into top 5 territory in NE MN. Avg high peaks in mid July around the mid 70's in town with upper 70's inland.

Temps running upper 70's-low 80's with mid-upper 60's for dews. Scattered shwr/stm complexes across NE/NC MN. They are moving really slow, so lots of rain for those spots where they are parked over. Will not be surprised to see flood warnings go up for some spots in the next 24-36 hrs, as the next low moves through.

In Manawa, WI, (W of Green Bay) their dam is about ready to break, or has broken. Evacuations are under way.

Temps in the mid 70's in town with a large batch of shwrs/stms moving from the N. Should get a little wet around supper time.

Temps running in the mid-upper 60's at midday with a light lake breeze. Some of the showers building to my N may sneak this way.

I've been having issues the last couple days or so with NWS enhanced radar not loading, or partially loading. If I leave the page up in a tab, and wait for a few minutes, sometimes it'll completely load.

Complex of shwrs (maybe thunder) slowly moving from the NE to SW right through the area that has been hit hard with rains the last 2+ weeks. Not good. Hopefully more doesn't develop behind, and train.

Temps peaked in the low 70's today with a cirrus deck hazing the Sun, along with a light lake breeze 5-10 mph. Should be just fine for the fireworks later. Looks like a good portion of MN/WI washed out this holiday with lots of rain persisting all day. Areas of S MN into S WI really don't need any more water. Rainy River on the CA border under a Flood warning now after heavier rains the other day.

Temps in the low-mid 80's with dews around 60. Warmer near the lake with down sloping winds from the W 10-15 mph. Temps inland running upper 70's-80. Perfect summer day.

July 4 looks pretty decent for most of the sub, except down nearer the OHRV area during the am hrs, where a more solid chance of rain exists. By fireworks time, tho, most of the W sub looking pretty iffy as shwrs/stms encroach upon that timeframe. Close call on this forecast.

Temps here in town made it up to the upper 60's with dews just a couple degrees behind. Overcast, muggy day. Inland made it into the low-mid 70's with dews on it's heels. Batch of showers stayed to my SE, and scattered stuff up N.

Yeah, my flower garden is just been on standby with the cooler wx. Annuals look about the same as when they got planted a month ago. Need warm nights for gardens to flourish. June's have always been an iffy month for gardens around here. Usually July is when they take off.

Heavy rains along the northern half of NE MN. Reports showing between 1-3.5" The 3.5" came in from an area S of I-Falls. 0.25" here in town. Back on June 28, Cook county (Grand Marais/ BWCA area picked up 2+") so they have gotten quite a bit the last few days. There were flooding reports up that way with water overtopping roads then, so probably happening again. That area up there closer to the CA border is the Rainy River Basin, and water levels are currently elevated, but down from the mid-June heavy rain event. Overcast with a light fog/mist at 10:30 am. Should see some breaks in the clouds later. Peeks of sun should bring temps into the mid 70's with a SW wind. Scattered shwrs/stms later this evening possible.

Didn't get quite as cool at some of the traditional cool spots here this morning as yesterday, but still low-mid 40's is still chilly for July 1. Made 70 today, but stayed around 60 on the shoreline with Lake breeze.

Pleasant, but coolish day to start the month. Mid-upper 60's (upper 50's on the shoreline) at midday. Could reach 70 in town (should inland), but a lake breeze at 10-15 mph keeping temps subdued a bit.

7.64" of precip for the month (4.23" avg) here in TH. DLH ended with 7.72" (4.39" avg), and 0.3 temp anom for June. June is the wettest month of the year, and it lived up to that this year.

Going to be a tough month starting off like this. Lots of rain coming my way in July.
